Her show "moesha" was horrible. She could do one pose, and that was the "say what" one.

Oh Lord, she's like a little Shitney Houston, Jr. I did enjoy her in "I Know What You Did Last Summer". I kept hollering at the screen to the serial killer...."Don't forget to kill Brandy! Don't forget to kill Brandy!"

(Afrodisiac, 2004) "Another Day in Paradise" (Best of Brandy, 2005) You forgot a few: "Brokenhearted" (Brandy) "The Boy Is Mine" (Never Say Never) "Angel in Disguise" (Never Say Never) "Never Say Never" (Never Say Never) "Learn the Hard Way" (Never Say Never) "Where Are You Now?" (Batman Forever) - produced by Lenny Kravitz "Talk About Our Love" (Afrodisiac) I also love Brandy. All her albums were tight, but here's how I'd rank them: 1. Never Say Never 2. Afrodisiac 3. Brandy 4. Full Moon "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

See, the thing I liked about that movie was all the ass shots of Brandy. I was like, "Damn! When did Brandy grow up?" "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I am surprised afrodisiac is getting so much loved. I would say it had
4 tracks on it i could get into but some of the songs on it were derivative which is not surprising since timbaland produced most of it. I loved the kanye west jam on it though. Her debut cd was by far the best. Baby,Baby alone and brokenhearted alone makes it the best. Baby, Baby was old school funk at its best. Her produced Keith Crouch had a knack for producing hits in the early 90's with that old school sound. Even though baby brother ray j is a joke as an artist his first album was funky because keith crouch put that bump on it. She should get back with keith crouch for her next project and just do a feel good record and forget about trying to keep current. That said: Brandy Full Moon Never Say Never Afrodisiac Do not forget about the funky jam she had on the waiting to exhale soundtrack sittin in my room. That is what i'm talking about a feel good record. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Brandy is really good and really seemed to be growing as an artist but I have a feeling if she does release a new album it will sound like crap due to being on small label.

We can all thank Atlantic for stunting her artistic growth by refusing to properly promote "Afrodisiac" even though it was a top 3 debut. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I like Brandy too...Brokenhearted, and Down for you were the jams back in the day!

I dont know if you notice, but a lot of R&B singers that came out in the 90's arent doing as well as they were back then. I dont know what to say---times change, music changes, etc. Toni Braxton and Janet Jackson are perfect examples!!! They even got new producers for their current albums, its just that...I couldnt even explain it. I think that people have their 'heyday' and then its over. [b] [b] Do you think the pussycat dolls is still gonna have hits two of three years from now??Nope (the same thing with Timberlake, Fergie, Beyonce, 99.9% of the rappers out now (sad to say , etc) Its not that their not talented, its just that their heyday is over [Edited 1/18/07 21:35pm] [Edited 1/18/07 21:35pm] [Edited 1/18/07 21:36pm]

Toni and Janet are two different scenarios...Toni only had two bona fide smash albums ("The Heat" was double platinum, but only had one big hit song) and was always aimed at the adult R&B demographic. Janet Jackson is still a superstar no matter what she does from here on out. Brandy was really the first younger diva to capitalize on her appeal to youth--people her own age and younger--and become a true franchise--albums, movies, a sitcom, and endorsements. Before Beyonce, Britney, Xtina, JLo--Brandy was the first in that vein to completely saturate the market even though her efforts have now been dwarfed by the others. And her music was always quality R&B. It's amazing how much Pussycat Dolls, Beyonce, Cassie, Ciara, Britney, Xtina, etc owe to Brandy, Monica and Aaliyah. In the early-mid 90s those 3 created the diva-in-training business model for the music industry, and the rest took it and ran. But those 3 were the best out of all of 'em in my opinion. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

Toni and Janet is not old ( 40 is not old, at least to me it isnt, TINA TURNER AND CHER MADE COMEBACKS IN THEIR 40'S AND 50'S) But their were a lot of child singers who came out at a very young age, cant think of any examples right now, but its hard for them to hold on to that success, especially these days. But I understand where you are coming from darling [Edited 1/18/07 23:49pm]
