I'm gonna vote for Andy Warhol, though I believe without that song there'd probably be no Sinaed O'Connor.
I haven't been disappointed with any of the choices so far. Hunky Dory's a hugely under-rated album. I know Changes gets a lot of attention, but I don't hear about the album nearly as much as Ziggy, Young Americans, the Berlin albums, or Scary Monsters. Maybe it's a different story in England. My girlfriend loves her, so I've kept up. But even she admits that she's sabotaged herself by being just a bit too serious & sensitive. It affects her music. Faith & Courage was a very good record, though, from a few years ago Andy Warhol sounds so much like her early stuff to me--Mandinka especially My Legacy

I've never thought of the Sinead connection. And "Hunky Dory" gets tons of love. On most critics lists, it ranks either first or second among his albums, usually duking it out with Ziggy.

I've heard that before, so it must be true, I just haven't seen it myself. It seems like Scary Monsters get's the most hype, maybe because it's his "last great" album. If what you say is true, though, then they're right on the mark. Along with Ziggy, it's definitely my favorite. My Legacy

what? The chorus of Andy Warhol sounds a lot like early Sinead to me. I don't know if it was a direct influence, but I wouldn't be surprised if bowie in general was. My Legacy

Blame the critics at large! Their list is compiled from literally thousands of the top album reviewers. It's not just one person's opinion.

I just think Pet Sounds is probably the most overrated album ever. And a Nirvana album in the top 3 of all time? (and I like Nirvana, but come on!) There's just too much crack floating around these days. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven
