Pop star Kylie Minogue has pulled out of a concert because of ill health.
The Australian singer was halfway though her concert at Manchester when she cancelled the rest of the show.

Minogue, 38, launched the UK leg of her Showgirl Homecoming Tour on New Year's Eve, following her recovery from breast cancer treatment.

She has already played seven dates at Wembley Arena, in north London, which were due to be followed from Friday by six concerts at Manchester's MEN Arena.

Minogue was forced to postpone her Showgirl world tour after her diagnosis in May 2005.

Minogue underwent surgery in Australia two days later and finished her chemotherapy in December 2005.

It had been hoped she would also play at this year's Glastonbury festival, after pulling out of a headlining slot in 2005 following her cancer diagnosis. But earlier this month festival organiser Emily Eavis told BBC 6 Music Minogue was too busy to join this year's line-up.

Minogue's record company, Parlophone, has also said she is working on material which could be released in 2007.

Set 1 was absolutely fine, but Kylie was noticeably singing less than she was on the other nights, particularly noticeable in On A Night Like This where she was letting the crowd & backing vocalists sing for her. She apologised for her voice during the first time she spoke. She also welcomed Will Young who was in the audience.

Set 2 didn't seem like it was ever going to start. It seemed weird - took maybe 3 or 4 minutes to start, rather than being instant as usual.

At the end of Set 2, lights went down and the guy placed the microphone for Set 3. But someone then came back and removed it.

I knew something was wrong when the dancing guy came on and did his little bit (going straight to Set 4 of the show) - Kylie came on, did the first song, and then made her apology and said that the next would be last for tonight. She talked to the crowd a bit, did a little bit of a song along with the crowd (I'm completely blanking what it was, sorry guys!) She brought Dannii on, did Kids, and that was it.

Kylie Minogue cuts short comeback tour performance due to flu, publicist says

LONDON: Australian singer Kylie Minogue was forced on to cut short a performance on her comeback following treatment for breast cancer because she was suffering from flu, her publicist said.

The London-based diva managed to perform only half of a scheduled 2 1/2-hour concert Saturday evening in Manchester, northern England, spokesman John Bills said.

"Several members of the crew, the tour manager and Kylie have been suffering from flu — but she didn't want to let anyone down. She wanted to try to get through the show, but had to cut it short," Bills said by telephone from Manchester.

He said there was no connection to Minogue's recovery from treatment for breast cancer, which led to a year-and-a-half career hiatus before a comeback tour that began in Sydney, Australia, last November.

Minogue, 38, was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2005. She underwent successful surgery in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia, that month, followed by five months of chemotherapy in Paris.

Bills said the tour manager would make a decision Sunday on whether to proceed with Monday's show, the second of five scheduled in Manchester, 195 miles (316 kilometers) north of London.
