I have to say, I bet this proves to be a bogus rumor...there's no way she'd follow Gwen so quickly

Before working with her, they were virtually unknown (some were competent remixes and had a cult following like in the case of William Orbit and the strange cargo albums!) By working with pharrel she's becoming a follower and not a leader! As Dallas Austin can point out, Madonna will STILL be calling the shots. Pharrell & Chad will not have 100% control on all of the sounds like they already do with other artists. It's going to be interesting because the neptunes are always in control. They did not allow Mariah to share prodution if I'm not mistaken... Madonna versus pharrell in the studio...kicking is ass! with a whip and Dita mask à la Erotica! [Edited 1/11/07 15:28pm]

My God she is going to be truly fucking stupid and squander all the goodwill she got from her fans with the Confessions record on some stupid mainstream rap & R&B. If she puts Pharrell and Mary on the SAME record, it will immediately be the worst record she ever releases. Without even listening to it, it's a given.

Janet recorded Britney's "Boys" with the Neptunes for the All For You album and even she was smart enough to know their time was past at that point and left it off the record. If you asked me, this is what she needs....she has released nothing but shit in the last 6 years and her sound needs a shot in the arm. This pairing could be as good as the one's that she did for the "Bedtime Stories" , CD. That was a pretty good CD, partly because she teamed up with people with whom, she would not ordinarily team up with. She has been know as an innovator so, let's see if she can get those juices flowing again. [Edited 1/11/07 17:53pm] Those people also happened to be good, innovative producers and songwriters. I am not saying that they were not, but they all had a different sound to Madonna at the time. U would have never heard her do something like "I rather be your lover", before that album. Or take "Secret", she would have never done something as funky as that. I'm not too concerned with who Madonna choses as a producer because I have found she always puts her unique spin on things. I almost always like what she does even when I don't like the work the same producers she uses do with other people. She has a way of using producers to her advantage, but still maintaining her own identity, whereas other artists get swallowed up by a producer.

My point is that you cannot (CANNOT) compare the Neptunes or Pharrell to those that produced Bedtime Stories. Because they have never done anything that even approaches that kind of quality songcraft. They produce with a Casio keyboard.

.
I remember pre Music (i believe) when she was rumored 2 collaborate with Snoop & Dre 4 a hip hop record. Anyway, if this new RnB rumor happens 2 be true i know she isn't going to 2 be jacking songs off Gwen, a la Fuglilicious, but i know 4 damn sure it's either gonna be wicked sounding or sucks a healthy fat cow's ass [Edited 1/11/07 18:29pm]

it could be worse news, it could be better. this IF the rumor is true, she could be trying to do another rnb flavored record a la bedtime stories. that's one of the few i don't own, along with music, something to remember, and greatest hits v2.
i like pharrell so i would certainly check it out. but i don't care for the way madonna does rnb.

besides, she used R & b styles on Erotica as well as Bedtime Stories.(which i both have and REALLY like)
i'll give it a chance. | |
