Anyone know about these 2 bands?

The Sounds and Cobra Starship

I saw their video collabo for that snakes on a plane song. I like it. It's catchy. How are these 2 bands in their own right??

The Sounds is a Swedish act that was hyped for about a month like all of the last years' "alternative" (as if) style-over-substance acts that just had to have the "the"-article in front of their names. The catch with that band was the female vocalist, and I guess you could find worse music around. But I doubt they'd be recognized anywhere else than in Sweden anymore,

It's not about that. It's just that there were a million of these things pushed to the european market one after another. It was impossible to tell them apart from each other, this one just stood out cause it had a female to front the band.

Judge for yourself, this was their one and only hit:

I have The Sounds' last two albums (might be their only two albums). They are okay. The last record has one really good song on it which was naturally the single "Song With A Mission". They are very new-wave-y. I've also seen them live three times here in the U.S. Lead singer Maja Ivarsson has lots of energy.

I don't know Cobra Starship, but did see the video for Snakes On A Plane. I was wondering who the woman was. Now it all makes sense. lol

I actually prefer the first Sounds album, 'Living In America' over the second. But if you like one, you'll most likely like the other. I think they sound more like 70s new wave--like Blondie before Blondie discovered disco and reggae.
