I was listening to the radio earlier today and "Paradise" came on to my surprise. It made me realize that she hasn't released any new material since 2000. What's she doing now? Any news on her?

I heard from a friend at SonyBMG (Epic's parent company) that a new record is on the '07 'To Be Announced' schedule...

long overdue...but a return would be wonderful!

Actually she'd be ahead of schedule, since she took 9 years between Love Deluxe and Lovers Rock. She was churning albums out pretty regularly in the 80's, but slowed due to family priorities, presumably.

I have a feeling it's gonna be a while. Sade is one of a small handful of artists whose sounds has changed very little and that's okay.

She won't have anything ready until 2016. I wouldn't expect anything sooner.

I did think she was banned from Jamaica though. I thought she lived in London.
