A Debbie Harry Bio-Pic? Yay! Starring...? NOOOO!!!

I just checked out Aint It Cool News for the first time in weeks, and found this little nugget of gossipy goo:

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/31176

A movie about the life of Debbie Harry! woot!

Directed by Michael Gondry! woot!

Starring...KIRSTEN FREAKIN DUNST?!?!? mad

Why would ANYONE cast that little HAG FACED GNOME as one of the most beautiful women in the history of popular music? I'm hoping this is a crap rumor because gawdammit, I'd sooner see Pete Burns in the role than Barfen Hurlst! disbelief

TRAVESTY!!!!! hmph!

So this obviously begs the question...who WOULD make a good Debbie Harry?

kirsten dunst is an awful choice but dear god, not chloe either. what a dreadful actress. and hard on the eyes, too. lol

what about mary kate olsen? ok, for real...stop laughing. she's already an actress, she's definitely got a strong presence. and it would be a great image makeover in terms of work.

see, you're looking at it all wrong. you're talking about "michelle tanner" and not mary kate olsen.

scarlet doesn't have any of the attitude or character needed to play an icon like debbie harry. and chloe is just...uuuuhhhhh. shake mary kate is skinny, flamboyant, fabulous, chic, rebellious...she could totally do debbie.

Look, it's pretty obvious there is no one who can do it because there is no one who comes close. Actors today are incredibly boring. It's like finding someone to play Monroe - pointless.

This suggestion is no better and no worse than Jonathan Rhys-Meyers playing Elvis Presley.

i would never use the word "fabulous" and "julia roberts" in the same sentence. lol other than her kid movie roles, what are you judging mary kate's ability on? has she even been offered anything else, movie-wise? i mean, besides what the tabloids write about her, what do any of us know about her abilities as an actress?

This just illustrates why Mary Kate shouldn't play Debbie.

I would put them both on the same level - SCRATE TERRIBLE CASTING. evillol

But I could not give you anyone who could do a good job because there is only one Debbie Harry and unfortunately there are no good actors. lol

I may be the only one, but I don't think Dunst is so terrible. Just as long as she wears enough makeup, I think she could pull it off. Moreso than Scarlett or Chloe.

I agree, look-wise she could probably pull it off. They'll need to beef up her lips though. Debbie's got stronger facial features than Kirsten Dunst.

Though in that same regard, Sienna Miller or Kate Winslet could probabbly pull off Debbie Harry as well with the right makeup.
