And wasn't it supposed to segue directly into "Andy Warhol"? It should have. yeah, i can imagine that! i think this could have been a real hit, but maybe it's too political, with the queen mentioned and everything. yes SIR!

Bombers (Bowie): this famous outtake eventually found a legal status on the Rykodisc/EMI version of Hunky Dory. Two versions fade into 'Andy Warhol', one lasting 3'14" (Caught In The Act (MIM-XXX/400)) and the other 3'24" (released on the official RCA BOWPROMO 1A-1/1B-1 promo LP, later included on the ChangesThreeDavidRobertJones (Grace AZL1-1984) bootleg). A basic demo with Bowie on piano is released on The Axeman Cometh (DB003). A short version of 2'36" and a fully orchestated version supposedly circulate on tape. See also BBC Performances section for a 1971 radio performanc (included on Bowie At The Beeb) and the Revelations album.

i have been quiet on the org for a few months, but this has brought me back! Awesome! I found this cool tidbit about a "Hunky Dory" outtake cassette. And there was a rumored album that was supposed to come between Hunky Dory and Ziggy. http://www.algonet.se/~ba...9/tsm.html

but then again... who would imagine HUNKY DORY after THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD? Stylistically, they are quite different. But the sound and production of the 2 are quite compatible. A lot of the songs from those albums were written and recorded concurrently. "Queen Bitch" could've easily been on Ziggy. So could "Life On Mars?"

So could "Life On Mars?" yes, also FIVE YEARS i guess. but the feel of the work of art as a whole is so completely different. like Ziggy had not entered Bowie yet. also on ZIGGY there are more men's voices to be heard, HUNKY DORY sounds more solo. yes SIR!

Yeah, I know what you mean. The feel of Ziggy is more like Aladdin, but the sound of it is more like Hunky, if that makes any sense.
