When speaking of the "Pop" singers of that day (Ella, Sarah, Sinatra, etc) and who they were influenced by... "They wanted to sing like the Jazz musicians played." ~Quincy Jones ...  Guess that explains the singing skills (or more accurately, the lack thereof) of Ciara/Cassie/(add your current next big thing "Pop vocalist")
