The Nerves did Hanging On The Telephone originally. The Brains did Money Changes Everything.

Yeah, the original got a lot of regional play back in '78. But nothing compares to Blondie.

That reminds me - Sinead - Nothing Compares 2 U.

That's another one.

Here's one by default: Madonna- "American Pie". I don't like her version of it at all, but I absolutely HATE the original with the heat of 1000 suns!

She's good at covers.

I'll throw in anything that Joan Jett or Grace Jones covered, except for "Private Life".

Didn't know you recognized!

Her cover of "She's Lost Control" can't touch the original either. But it's just as entertaining!

I love Annie's "Medusa" album although I'm not familiar with several of the originals.

I liked her vocals. But I think they got the instrumental just right on Rod's. Very delicate, understated, layered and rhythmic. She tried to replicate the 70's production, but....it sounded like 00's Pro Tools. I donno, there was something off about the instrumental.

I prefer the original of "When You Were Mine."

My picks:

The Kings of Covers: The Isley Brothers
1. Summer Breeze
2. Love the One You're With
3. Hello, It's Me
4. Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight
5. Spill the Wine

The Queen of Covers: Aretha Franklin
1. Respect (even Otis agreed)
2. I Say a Little Prayer
3. Don't Play That Song

The Jackson 5 - Who's Lovin' You, Stand!, I Bet You (I know, I know)
Marvin Gaye - I Heard It Through the Grapevine (if it counts)
Stevie Wonder - All I Do (if it counts)
Cyndi Lauper - All Through the Night
Whitney Houston - Greatest Love of All, I Will Always Love You
Boyz II Men - In the Still of the Night
Sinead O'Connor - Nothing Compares 2 U

a bunch more...

Well, it's on her Greatest Hits and I think there's the radio version and one that's more country flavored.
