When i 1st heard "our mutual friend" bt The Divine Comedy i was (& still am) like: WOW! How beautiful, profound & intense this song is!
Since i'm not a native eanglish-speaker i didn't pay attention 2 the lyrics, then later i got them & was so disappointed!
I thought this song was about, i don't know, the most important subject, or these moments when someone sees thing so clearly or life é death or whatever & it's just a sex story which is ok but so weak compared 2 the music!!!

I still love the track but the guy who associated such lyrics 2 such great music is an asshole!

I've felt alot when I was growing up. Even though I've spoken and spoken english since I was 10, only when I was 15, I start to pay attention to the lyrics of songs. Man, translating those to my native language, Portuguese, was one of the funniest task ever, because some of the songs had the cheesiest lyrics I ever heard!
