Ice is Hall Of fame material just for his 6 In Tha Mornin and his opening sideways line to Colors..I am a night..mare walkin..." etc. He was gangsta rap before Snoop conked his hair and at least one year before NWA when Dre still wore eyeliner.

One of the most brillant storytellers EVER in rap music and a fly cool brotha. Ice is one of the few rappers I would actually ever want to meet. O.G.-Original Gangster and HOME INVASIONare classics. I like how he ends his albums with spoken dialogue...be it street poetry or just speaking from his heart. Plus, he has actually LIVED a lot of the stuff he puts in his lyrics. He once said that he doesn't really consider his music gangster rap but REALITY-BASED RAP. You can listen to an Ice-T album and then listen to a lot of this other plastic cartoon gangster music and hear the difference immediately. It's like the difference between night and day. Plus he's a credible actor. I love the way he handled the whole COP KILLER controversy. Read his book THE ICE OPINION-But Who Gives A ---. It's a funny,thought-provoking,educational and yes FLY reading experience. He gives props to Prince and Madonna.

yeah... i give mad props to ice... the man is truly as pimp2 as they come...

albums like "the iceburg: freedom of speech, just watch what you say," "power," and the record that almost became rap's first double album "og original ganster," but warner brothers didn't think that a hip-hop double album was a good idea... regardless it has the sprawling feel of one...

i think what made ice-t's music standout is that he wasn't glamourizing the gangster and he wasn't shoving it down your throat that it's a terrible thing to be... most of his songs depict both the good and bad sides of the hustling lifestyle and he lets you make the decision yourself...

and he is also one of the most outspoken anti-drug rappers of all-time...

ICE-T is a class act, i went 2 see him on the 'Bodycount', tour. I think he also likes Prince, cuz in 'Party Of The Times, A Tribute 2 Prince',he covers the song 'Head', and acknowledges Prince, sayin hes a true musican and player.

Ice-T is one of a very few, good rappers out there, nothin sounded like 'OG' or 'Home-invasion'.

I loved Ice-T in the day. Lost me when he went metal/punk. By any reasonable metal standard, the Body count stuff was pretty weak. Sounded like warmed over Agent Orange.

Power
The Iceburg (freedom of Speech - just watch what you say)
O.G. (One of hte best rap albums EVER)
Home Invasion

When Ice-T, PE, Eric B. & Rakim, The Jungle Brothers, Son of Bazerk were doing it was the only time I listened to rap. Now that'll make you feel old: when your waxing nostalgic for the "Golden Age" of rap.

thank you thank you thank you. seems like nobody even knows who ice-t is nowadays. the man is definate hall of famer. he got better with every album, although home invasion is a very close second to o.g. ... it blows my mind that he's lasted as long on law & order as he has ... the establishment still hasn't forgiven him for cop killer, (which is a bad ass jam, i don't care if you don't think so) .. body count's first album was the shit, point blank. there's no use comparing it to anything else, cuz it wasn't meant to be anything else. has anyone heard his cover of "hey joe"?? the band was unbelievable behind him on that one. his album's since '95 have been spotty at best but that's only cuz he fell victim to "trying to stay relevent" ... it's all good. he's still got five bomb ass albums to his name up to that point. most "gangsta" rappers don't last more than two at best. indeed, ice is not gangsta, but reality. 99% of gangsta rappers out there are just telling stories, ice lived the shit before he got wise enough to, as he put it, "put down the gun and pick up the mic". as i said about cop killer i'll apply to ice's whole catalogue ... if you ain't feelin it, then it's not for you.
