Mike at the funeral.

This one´s unbelievable to me.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Simply an awesome Memorial! I couldn't see any other way they could have sent him off. It really got to me when James Stage announcer, Mr. Danny R. put one of James famous "Capes" on the casket when the song ended. One last time.

Has it just finished? Cause I ´ve been having CNN on for the past half an hour and there´s nothing there.

Michael Jackson is at the funeral in Augusta, GA., it's live on CNN. Did Prince go? Is Prince paying his respects in person?

JB's manager stated during the service that James had planned to work with Prince as well and MJ in the future.

Sometimes people who are intense and emotional don't hold up well at funerals. I'd have been surprised to see him there.

really? Is it only on the american one? Cause I´ve got the international one and if the funeral has just ended, than they were not showing it, or I might have just missed it, damn.

I think those were the ramblings of a dying man, funny how JB mentioned Prince as one of the ppl he influenced right before he died. I wish Prince would have been there...

That really got me too. And the part where they spoke about James wanting people to love one another and clean up the music. James wanted to know how we got from "Say It Loud" to calling each another n***as, b**ches and hoes?

I want to know the same thing.

Do you think that Prince is more emotional than MJ?

That collaboration would have been sooooo cool!

During the service Al Sharpton states that his last conversation with Dr. James Brown was that James asked if Michael was back in the US and told Al to tell MJ to come back home to the US and not to be afraid to come back. In other words, don't be afraid to face the critics, media. Basically, no matter what MJ does the media and the public will do everything in their power do degrade him to the lowest degree. But I hope MJ stands tall and not be afraid to face them, because he should expect the negativity from the media being the famous man that he is. Dr, James Brown went through a lot with the media criticizing him over the years trying to find everything negative against him, but he stood stron and proud and proved his legacy.

Mr. Bobby, Dr. Brown's friend mentioned that Dr. James Brown told him that he had a lot of work to do with MJ and Prince, it's apparent Dr. James Brown saw these 2 like his Godsons. I hope they both keep the music alive for Dr. Brown.

CNN cut the program I believe when Dick Gregory came on. I watched the program in it's entirety on NY1 without commercial interruptions. Kudos for NY1 for carrying the entire service.

I'm sorry for responding so late; but it appeared that CNN stopped showing the Memorial about 4:30 E.S.T. Maybe this memorial will be availible on some sort of professional media in the future. His spirit upstages even in death!

Oh I didn't see your post. I just posted that same info. That would have been a beautiful thing. You know, I honestly know now that Dr. James Brown saw both Michael Jackson and Prince like they were both his Godson's carrying the torch for him. It's like he protected the both of them like they were his sons as well, so to speak. It was nice that Prince got inducted into the UK Hall of Fame the same night as Dr. James Brown as well. I hope both of Prince and MJ work together to carry on Dr. Brown's legacy and keep the real music going.

I have to say, Dr. James Brown message in his music made me proud of who I am today and never have to apologize for it. May he rest in peace and I sure when he walked into heaven, God put a crown on him.

Really? I´ve always thought that the public saw Mike as more emotional -*weaker" - one and Prince the stronger - "more emotionless" - one. Cause you get to see MJ almost cry in the public, but I don´t know if Prince has ever cried in public. But maybe that´s just me.

Although I see crying rather as a sign of strength than weakness, but it seems to me that people in general don´t. At least with men.

Dying or not, it's significant that Prince and Michael were the only two mentioned by name.

I would have been surprised to see Prince there. I imagine he'll find another way to pay his respects.

I am watching Sky and it's all about funerals and burials; they have gone from Saddam to Jame Brown to President Ford.

And I am not surprise MJ is at James Brown funeral, anyone who saw the 11 yr old MJ perform knows where MJ main influence came from. Also JB had a vested interest in Michael and his brothers when they were young, apparently they use to open his shows for him at Chicago or the Apollo.

Sleep tight and God Bless James Brown.

yeah, that´s Mike. He always pays tributes and visits funerals. I would be surprised if he didn´t show up.

Yeah, they cut away when Dick Gregory came on. Of all people! What did he say???

It's a crying shame that BET didn't broadcast this live. They've been showing stupid hip hop videos instead. WTF?

That service was JB all the way...I bet he was smiling and having a funky good time up in the great beyond today.
