Fuggie to star in remake of John Carpenter's Halloween (not playing Michael Myers)

STRAIGHT WTF?????

A remake of John Carpenter's classic slasher flick Halloween has been given the green light and tipped to land the lead scream role is Black Eyed Peas star Fergie.

Rocker-turned-horror director Rob Zombie is set to direct the new version of the seminal slasher flick. The hairy metal head's version will also act as a prequel to the John Carpenter classic, telling the story of Michael Myers' early years.

And Fergie, real name Stacey Ferguson, is set to play Laurie - the part that made Jamie Lee Curtis a star and the only girl who managed to slip between Michael Myers' psychotic fingers.

Rob told halloweenmovies.com: "I am basically making a prequel and a semi-remake of the first film all in one. So really in theory there will be more original content than remake content. That's why I don't like the word "remake."

"I wouldn't even go near this project if I didn't feel like a had a fresh, worthwhile approach to the material. Besides, I'm not touching one single frame of Carpenter's classic. That film will remain as it always has."

"I talked to John about it and he was very supportive. He basically said, 'That's great Rob, go for it and make it your own'. What more do I need?"

Zombie made a name for himself in the horror field with the critically acclaimed House Of 1000 Corpses and sequel Devil's Rejects.

It would be FABULOUS casting if she would play Michael Myers...wouldn't even need a mask!

This is true...

I'll definitely be rooting for Michael Myers in this one.

But she WILL lend credence to the classic line from the original:

"Poor Laurie, scared another one away..."

This is not true. At most, it's unsubstantiated rumor. In fact, the bolded part has nothing to do at all with the casting. He made those comments this past summer in reference to making the movie at all, NOT about casting Fergie. There have been no announcements about casting. This is one of Zombie's favorite movies, and I can't see him wanting to fuck it up like that.

I like how Rob Zombie says he doesnt like the word "Remake", how about "Cashing in" is that better. You arent creating anything when you are using someone else's characters, even if he is writing a totally new script and new actors, he's using a character and a storyline that has already been done. Between movies and music i have never seen such a lack of being able to do something original.

Then why didn't you ever send me an orgnote if you were so bothered by me, instead of responding to many of my posts with bitchy comments? Or you could just take your own advice, say to each his own and ignore me. If you can't ignore posts or orgers you don't like, it's NOT my problem.
