Nas - "Hip Hop Is Dead"

This album may not be another Illmatic, but damn it's a great to add to his repertoire. Definitely prefer this over "Street's Disciple." I'm definitely adding this to the Christmas list. Anybody else heard this yet? Favorite tracks are probably:

Where Are They Now?
Hip Hop Is Dead
Still Dreaming
Hold Down the Block
Who Killed It?
Black Republican
Play On Playa
Can't Forget About You

I don't really like it. confused But I downloaded Mos Def's new album last night and it's amazing!I was hoping for Nas to come hard with it because I haven't heard good hip hop in a while. This year was pretty stale besides Dilated Peoples and prolly a few others.

What's the sound like? Is it loud as hell and compressed or is it o.k?

I didn't know either until someone told me that it was really good. It's supposed to come out in Jan. though. It's called Tru3 Magic.

It's a bit more laidback than I thought it would be. But Nas sounds a bit more inspired on this than he did with Street's Disciple, so that's a plus. Still a good number of upbeat tracks on the disc. But, I'm especially liking the acapella track "Hope," where it's just him rhymin'.

Does his voice sound o.k or distorted like on some tracks he's previously done?

How would you compare the volume to Kingdom come which is fucking horribly sounding.

BBTW hear about Nas beating his baby's mother? I know she cheated but he did too and i thought Nas was more of a man then to punch and beat a women.
