I never quite understood when he changed his hair style back then. Here he's still Ziggy, in the bootleg of the Diamond Dogs 30th Anniversary release he already has the new hair. I suppose those pics are from DD recording sessions, so why does he have the Ziggy do in this promo video?

Great song, great clip. Gods, he was pretty. drool horny

But I wonder, with that patch on, how well could he see? Considering it was his good eye that was covered up and all...

I still can't get over the number of times this song'll get played at sporting events and in bars and whatnot and the loud drunken jocks will sing along, apparently oblivious to what the song is about. lol

So it seems. lol

It's the Lola syndrome rearing it's head again. But that's okay. What they don't know won't hurt them. And who knows? Maybe one or two of those macho beer-chuggers is actually paying attention and silently cheering for the Queerness Of It All.

This is a thread unto itself. Have you SEEN those "Jock Jams" compilations? eek I swear they are "I'm Coming Out" compilations with new cover art.

The 2003 version was a bit of a let down imo!

i like the single version of it with the added-in "la la la la"s, just because it freshens up a song we've all heard a million times (great as it is). and yeah, the 2003 remake...ehhh...eww. love ya, dayvid...but ill

Yes, that was the equivalent of "1999 The New Master", but far far worse. Don't mess with perfection.

I don't know if I've misunderstood anyone's comments, but he's not supposed to be Ziggy here. His character name is "Halloween Jack" (as in, "Halloween Jack is a real cool cat, and he lives ontop of Manhattan Chase").
now i know what this is all about. now i know exactly what i am.

Yeah, but he still LOOKS like Ziggy. He didn't change his hairstyle until he took Diamond Dogs on the road, when he went for the Young Americans look and wore flat shoes.

Fantastic song! It's the song that always comes to mind when I think of David Bowie. Though it's radically different, I also think Rickie Lee Jones' take on it is very good.

There's nothing gayer than sports. Any given team could easily give a whole revue of Drag Show Girls a run for their money.

But for the love of God, if I hear YMCA at a game one more time, I just might die laughing.razz
