Marvin dug Tammi for being a "wild spirit" but thats the reason why he didn't think she was his type.
He wanted the naive innocent type where he could tame her as long as he wanted(ala Janis). Anna Gordy was outragously jealous of Tammi(and Kim Watson and Mary Wells) she didn't like them gals hanging around Marvin(which she thought they were doing from all the duets they recorded).
