Music That Reminds You Of People...

I can not listen to Tori Amos without thinking about Gangstafam.
Same as with Miles Davis' Agartha album and IstenSzek.
Or Madonna and Mikemantronik.
And Kylie makes me think of Moonbeam.
Neil Diamond makes me think of my mom.
Dutch troubadour Ramses Shaffy makes me think of my dad.
Joni Mitchell's My Old Man makes me think of my first bf Richard.
As does any Motny Python song and the Anthology version of Across The Universe.
U2 makes me think of my eldest sister, The Cure and The Eurythmics my youngest sister.
AC/DC, Black Sabbath and Van Halen make me think of my brother.

All music they love and I asociate with them. I love the power of music.

I'm honored! biggrin

I can't think of VLF or The Knife without thinking of you! And I would adore your youngest sister with the Cure/Eurythmics combo!

Cool thread! I'm not sure I assosciate many artists' full careers with one person, but I definitely do that a lot with individual songs.

But I do often think of Sir Goo when I listen to Joy Division. He's the only other person who 'gets it' like I do.

Joni Mitchell often makes me think of my best friend Moonsongs.

Many Cure songs remind me of my Minneapolis kitties.

Eurythmics ARE my brother.

Cher is Aaron.

Stereolab is totally Anx.

Supa and I have the PJ thing.

MC Lyte makes me think of all the cool things that CC says.

I can't even look at Siouxsie anymore without thinking of Sextonseven.

My dad gave me my love for jazz and Nina Simone.

My mother reminds me of David Bowie.

Various guitar playing alterna-chicks will always be my friend Scott.

Violett and I share a love for Mary J. Blige.

VoicesCarry owns Janet.

All y'all make me think of Prince.

Joy Division or some fan made edit of a Prince track, especially the ones of Dirty Mind, TTD --> Mr. Hamster!
Michael Jackson and Ciara --> CinisterCee
Janet Jackson - VoicesCarry....
Bowie - Anx
Scissor Sisters --> LazyCrocket (my favorite madonna hater!)
Billie Holiday -->Harlepolis
Madonna --> Jayredee and davideye (I miss u!)
Kylie & Holidannii --> Moombeam (Ocean blue is your jam!)
funkpill-->brides of funkenstein!
Natisse--> her boyfriend...mr. robbie williams

Hehehe, she had the kewlest musical taste in the family. She also dug Dutch band Doe Maar (dub-pop band big in the 80's) and Bob Marley. And Nina Hagen Band, but she got that from my brother. And Laurie Anderson.

PS, my Touch fanatism is due to my sister. Her taste went somewhat more bland after her marriage, but since she got divorced and got a much younger bf (heh) she is getting into NiN and I have been hipping her to kewl stuff again.
