100 YEARS AGO DOO DOO(HEARTBREAKER) FINGERPRINT FILE Any others that come to mind? Damn near all of the Black and Blue album. "Hot Stuff", "Miss You", "Emotional Rescue" are the clear cut obvious ones. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

The Stones are pure blues purists so funk is going to be in damn near everything to do. If nothing else, it's always there in their attitude and their grooves. But yeah, I ran a thread on the Black and Blue album. The Ohio Players vibe is thick on that album. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Miss You and Emotional Rescue (love Bill Wyman's bass on this cut) do it for me as far as Stones' funk goes. [Edited 11/28/06 21:57pm] My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth

[Edited 11/28/06 21:57pm] The extended versions of both of these are even better. The long version of Miss You is on Rarities, Emotional Rescue is on bootleg. Honorary mentions to: Dance - Parts 1, 2 & 3 Everything's Turning To Gold Too Much Blood Terrifying Rain Fall Down (sorta) Harlem Shuffle (sorta) Back To Zero There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

What about the bass line in "Miss You"?? -- that is irresistably funky!

Half of the stuff on there wasn't even "rare", and some oif it was "rare" as in "not well done". You can get the full length original 12" mix of Miss You on the Don't Stop CD single. And it got its first CD release as the extra disc on "Flashpoint & Collectibles". The latter is harder to find and more expensive. Otherwise, there are always bootlegs. obviously Miss You & Emotional rescue, but without actually leaving rock & roll I think Can't You Hear Me Knocking & Brown Sugar are very funky. My Legacy

All 3, actually, but I think I like Part 1 best--it seems a little tighter --and I love the instrumental, of course! ... Not necessarily funkin', but groovin'. Nice Mick Taylor slide work. Kinda swamp-funk. That's how I prefer my Stones...drugged up. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Some of the Keef solo stuff, if not outright funky, grooves pretty hard thanks to Steve Jordan and Charley Drayton.
