Did you get the Surrounded box yet? It's heavenly!

I wasn't expecting it to sound that much better since her music is all fairly new and sounds so modern anyway. But it does.

nope..just albuns from debut 2 Drawing Restraint Number 9. Sadly there's no bonus tracks (x-cept 4 the last album). They're all dual-disc with audio on one side and the videos on the other. They should put some b-sides, remixes outtakes or whatever in a box like this...but no!

I agree. I would've much preferred 2 disc sets with a bonus disc of b-sides and outtakes. Maybe that's something she'll do in the future though.

DR9 was the first Björk album that I did not like! confused

The only song I like there is the 1st one "Gratitude"...which doesn't feature her singing!

Strangely my favorite Björk album are Post (lost my Björk-ginity with it) and Vespertine.

Also I tend to listen more to Debut Live than debut

That's not strange at all. I think "Post" is her most varied and accessible album. There's a lot to admire there.

And her Unplugged (Debut Live) is one of the most inspired live recordings I've ever heard. So glad it finally got released on CD!

I wasn't too keen on DR9 either. Maybe it'd help if I saw the movie. But from several reports I've read, maybe it wouldn't. boxed

Apparently I've been living in a cave lately. But this sounds so abslutely heavnely I can't even stand it. I will be stopping at my local wrecka stow on the way home.

Do yourself a favor and buy the whole live box, not just the individual shows. And thank me later. You won't be sorry. wink

there are some bits and pieces of 'medulla' i don't mind - i like 'triumph of a heart' and one or two of the other songs, and i REALLY admire her willingness to take a risk with an a cappella album; some of it gets a little too obtuse for me, and some of it sounds like recycled bjork 101 music. i thought it was a little messy. and i can forgive DR9 - it really isn't much different than the cremaster soundtracks by jonathan bepler - though as a proper bjork album, i'd say she lost the plot.

I guess I was a bit opposite of most with "Medulla". I was expecting to hate it based on everything I'd read but once I did it won me over immediately. I think what saved it for me is that she had the songs all in place before scrapping all the instruments and replacing them with vocals.

I know a lot of folks diss the record for not having [b]song[b] songs, but I disagree. Sure there are a few that sound like interludes like "Show Me Forgiveness" and "Midvikudags", but most of them I find to be fully formed and easy to appreciate.

I love Medulla and was relieved at how much I loved it. DR9 is another story entirely, but I forgive her cuz I think of it as a side project.

I don't know why, but I get the strongest feeling that she's going to scrap most of those songs.

i loved post when it came out - i still do - but i find that i burned out on it over the years and i'm not really into listening to it as much. i do enjoy telegram. it's one of the few remix albums i really enjoy. one of my favorite songs from post is 'headphones', and one of my favorite bjork lyrics is from that album - "i suck my tongue in rememberance of you." touched
