Hella YAY! Ever since I saw her in that black spandex in 'Grease' in 1978, I've had a thing for ONJ. I've rediscovered her music recently and her 70s/early 80s singles are some of the greatest pop I've ever heard including the "Xanadu" duet with ELO above.

Olivia was great, ca. 1977-1983.

I likely wouldn't hate her early singles quite so much if the hardware store I worked in part-time as a teenager hadn't played her greatest hits album on repeat all day, every day. I usually enjoy the odd bit of 70s-era corn-ball easy listening, but I Honestly Love You, her act of violence towards If Not For You and pretty much everything else she recorded in that era make me sick.
I do think her new wave and disco singles were good, trashy fun, though.

Is that the lead singer from The Fall? I thought Frodo destroyed the ring...I guess not.

Anx said: YAY! YAY! YAAAAY!!! I didn't think I even liked her (apart from Grease) and then Dan (TommyRoss) put on Xanadu for me one night. I hadn't seen it before and we only watched "the good bits", but I realized that I liked almost the whole soundtrack actually. spelling edit [Edited 11/25/06 23:53pm] Same here! I had a major jones for her because of "Grease". I only heard "Xanadu" recently, but it's awesome! I used to have the 7" of "Magic" so I always knew about the 'Xanadu' singles, but admittedly have never seen the movie--not the whole thing anyway. I had a whole box of 'Grease' trading cards, the photonovel...it was very sad.
