MICK TAYLOR-Underrated and Forgotten

This man is clearly one of the greatest guitar players to ever pick up the instrument and my favoriate player EVER. He will never be mentioned in the same league as Hendrix,Beck,Santana,Page or even Prince or Eddie Hazel for that matter, but he's just as great or ever better than all of the above players mentioned in terms of pure playing skill. I believe his most brilliant work has never been officially released to the public but also his guitar solo on The Rolling Stones song 'Time Waits For No One' is just so incrediable in how his soloing just flows like a waterfall into a river.

Any one else feel that he is an unsung hero of guitar playing on the level of any of the guitarists I mentioned or do you feel Ive gone way overboard in any of my assesments about him(of course i'll never believe that I have)?

Also, any other unsung axe slinger that you feel deserves mention on here?

I always think of Mick Taylor in terms of his slide playing, though he's an all-around great player.

My unsung axe slinger is Eric Gales. His videos were taken off of youtube and the poster got his account suspended. Here's his myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/ericgales

This is one of those "super unknown" guys, also on myspace: http://www.myspace.com/smithhart

Oh, yeah, there's also David Hidalgo of Los Lobos. Great player and songwriter.
