Banks foreclose on Houston’s Alpharetta home
By RICHARD L. ELDREDGE | Thursday, November 16, 2006, 03:44 PM

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Pop star Whitney Houston is no longer a Country Club of the South resident. Her home in the Alpharetta subdivision, which she and her husband Bobby Brown bought for $1.1 million in 2003, went into foreclosure this fall and was sold Nov. 7 on the steps of the Fulton County Courthouse.

The five-bedroom, five-bath property at 1014 Tullamore Place in Alpharetta is back up for sale for $1,398,000, according to various real estate Web sites.

Houston’s Atlanta attorney Mark Trigg confirmed the foreclosure but did not immediately provide other details this afternoon.

Savannah attorney David W. Adams, who represented mortgage holder Wachovia Mortgage Corp. in the transaction, did not immediately return a call today.

The property’s listing agent Robin Consor at Keller Williams Realty did not immediately return inquiries.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press reported Wednesday that the singer’s property in Mendham Township, N.J., is slated to be sold in a sheriff’s sale Jan 4. The multimillion-dollar mansion there is more than $1 million behind in mortgage payments and taxes.

Houston filed for divorce from Brown in September after a tumultuous, tabloid-filled 14-year-marriage to the pop singer.

Houston remains in Los Angeles where she is working on a comeback album with mentor Clive Davis. In 2001, Houston signed a historic $100 million record contract with Arista Records.
