Well, you're seeing her in person too, but I think she's looked much better before. These just look tacky.

I'll get into a bit more detail now.

This show meant a whole lot to me. I became a Kylie fan back in 2002 when "Can't Get You Out of My Head" hit in the States. I became transfixed with Fever and quickly pursued her back catalogue. At the time, I met the love of my life on this very website! She lived in Australia, but our mutual interest grew and grew. One of our first connections was Kylie- she sent me Impossible Princess as it was nowhere to be found in the States at the time. As I continued to delve in, I was particularly struck by "Take Me with You", and Tracy was as well, as it featured instruments familiar to her from South Africa, where she was born. This became "our song".

Tracy came to visit me in the States while I was in grad school in 2003 and we immediately knew our connection would be permanent. Saying goodbye was awful (as it always is), but our connection remained strong. Little did I know how much I would need her, as within 11 months, I lost my father and both grandmothers in rather grueling fashion. Tracy was my support throughout this all. Nevertheless, all of the death ate at my self-confidence and self-worth, rendering songs like "I Believe in You" particularly powerful for me. By this point, I finished my master's degree and was teaching full-time at a community college, which afforded me 3 month's worth of summer vacation to spend in Australia with Tracy. We therefore jumped at the chance to buy tickets for 4 Kylie shows. The news of her breast cancer was devastating, as she had become a symbol of hope for me. Nevertheless, we hung on to our tickets.

During that trip, Tracy and I got engaged and I made the difficult decision to immigrate to Australia so that we could begin our life together after 4 years of waiting. I arrived in June and we got married on the most picturesque, gorgeous winter day in July. This was the first time our families met, which was amazing in and of itself. touched

After a ton of paperwork and the suspension of our migration agent, exclaim I finally was granted my temporary residence in October, one day before I would have to make a painful trip back to the States because my aunt had died suddenly.

As a result of all of these emotional extremes, this Kylie concert meant a lot. Kylie had grown to become both a representative of my insouciant youth and a beacon of hope and triumph given her recovery. So it was that I danced my ass off to the pop confection of songs like "Better the Devil You Know" and "Can't Get You Out of My Head" and cried my eyes out during "I Believe in You". To hear THAT song while next to my new bride after all we had to sacrifice to be together and all of the doubt and loss, it was truly a sacred moment.

More to come...

I'm sure the show was great and everything, but those outfits are just disbelief

I think the outfits are more for her gay fans...For me, I would love to she her in that white thing she she wore in "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" and the hot pants from "Spinning Around". I mean, she's covered from head to toe and her boys are in underwear...She does know her audience!

Doesn't quite have the punch of her massive hits like "Can't Get You Out Of My Head"....then again, she debuted that song live (its on one of her live tour videos that came out before the song) and it didn't sound like the record....The record will probably be better if it's the intended first single. I heard she is working with Boy George on the new album.

One funny bit about last night's show:

We were seated next to some enthusiastic Kylie fans, which is nice, because on the other side of us were some real duds. In any case, when Kylie came out toward the end and thanked everyone, she pointed to a little girl a little further down and said, "especially you in the pink dress". Unaware, our enthusiastic friend of about 25, also wearing a pink dress, starting screaming and jumping up and down. After about 5 seconds she realized that Kylie was referring to the little girl and tried to play it off like she didn't just make a complete ass out of herself! Priceless!

Gigantic video (166.9 MB) of the new White Diamond here. I'm still downloading it, but thought I'd share for others with lots of memory on their computers!

I unearthed an ancient thread (March 2002), where I first was getting into Kylie with the help of my future wife, Diva! I had only just started conversing with Miss Diva at this stage...

I love them too, though i think i like the Dreams section dress of the First Showgirl a bit more, though it's the same color as the current opening outfit.

FANTASTIC! I just got back from the 3rd night, where we had our best seats- second row center! From there, everything was perfectly in focus, and it was truly rapturous. I made a big poster that read "Shine On, White Diamond", and shine on she did! She was much more relaxed this time around, and very playful.

There was a sound problem after the second song, "In Your Eyes", so Kylie had to ad lib for awhile. It was so cute. She sang acapella to "Got to Be Certain" and "Your Disco Needs You", humming some of the lines because she forgot! giggle After she came back, she apologized for the delay and said that in the past year and a half, she's learned to say "so what", which garnered great applause. clapping

I truly danced my ass off. My voice is totally wrecked from screaming so much, and my calves burn from jumping through entire songs ("I Believe in You", "Light Years"). Kylie appreciated our energy and looked at Tracy and I a few times in thanks. I held up my sign only 3 times as I didn't want to be obnoxious, and she smiled and nodded. nod Tracy said I was enthralled like a teenage girl, which isn't altogether untrue. excited

The crowd was much more into the show, at least from my perspective up front. None of the seats on the floor were used at all, which was nice! We have one more show (Sunday) and while it will be sad to not have any more to look forward to after anticipating these shows for over 2 years, the experience will definitely feel complete after tonight's amazing spectacle.
