Been getting back into my Aerosmith albums recently, especially Pump and Get A Grip. Any other fans here at the Org?

Absolutely mad for the song "F.I.N.E." particularly the last verse. Genius lyrics. They make me smile every time.

Anyone else fans here, if so whats your fave track and why?

Aerosmith is one of my favorites. I'm going to see them next month. I'm so excited!!!

My Fav album of theirs is 'Get your Wings' old one from the 70s, love it..

There one of the only bands left about I'd love to go see, but living in the UK don't much of a chance, they don't seem to tour these sides..

'Rocks' is one of the greatest albums of all time. It's impossible to skip a track. 'Toys In The Attic' is not far behind. Most of their 70's shit is great.
Favourite song? 'Lord Of The Thighs', maybe. Nah, either Combination or 'Nobody's Fault'.

Just got through listening to "Janie's Got a Gun". I still remember when "Dream On" came out on the radio back in the 70's. That song was slammin (still is).

i want P to do a Aero jam.. maybe get on stage with JP and take us to guitar school ...

I think "Pump" was one of the best Rock Albums of the last 20 years, though some may say Guns "destruction" was better or a more important record, could be, but "Pump" was just a straight out blast of rock, real rock.

I love Aerosmith! I saw them in concert on New Years Eve 1999 in Boston. They were awesome I really love the album Permanent Vacation. It was the first one of theirs I heard, so it holds a special place in my heart lol.

I like Aerosmith quite a bit. Pump is a perfect album, and I quite enjoy Toys in the Attic and Rocks as well. "Janie's Got a Gun" was the song that made me a fan and remains my favorite. They are often underrated and considered a "poor man's Rolling Stones", but gimme Aerosmith over the Stones any day!

When they're good they're great bu most of the time they're mediocre.
Rocks is the only album that I could listen to as an album. Nobody's Fault was always my favourite. Last Child and Get the Lead Out are pretty cool too.
Their post comeback period is marked by a ton of horrid power ballads, unlike their 70's ballads Dream On and Home Tonight. Pump has 5 songs that pretty cool, the first three are important to that record. 'Other Side' was pretty poppy but still a good song and Janie's got a gun was obviously a huge hit.
I liked how on songs like The Farm and Falling in love (hard on the knees) they used production to make the songs sound more imaginative. Just push play had 3 awesome songs, Beyond Beautiful (chorus is bordering on cheesy), Sunshine and Avant Garden. One of my favourites is actually a 'bonus track' (I think) on Get a Grip, Can't Stop Messin, sounds like a 70's era track.
They're a cool band but they don't have anywhere near the number of good songs that say the Stones had.

Yeah I really like Aerosmith. I have a bunch of favorite songs but most recently I've been into their song "Additude Adjustment" from their "Nine Lives" CD. I saw them in concert and they really rocked. Also..this is funny..I actually met Tom Hamilton who plays bass for Aerosmith...we talked about their biography "Walk this Way" because I had read it not to long ago and it was a pretty intriuging book. His personality was just really stoic.

I'm just glad that Aerosmith has ditched the Diane Warren/Desmond Child approach to writing chart-topping hit songs, 'cause everything was starting to sound like one looonnnnnggggg song...

Wow..thanks for all the comments. Clearly i'm not the only Prince and Aerosmith fan here.
Like HardCoreJollies says Aerosmith are a funk rock band and in many ways Steve Tyler is alot like Prince in terms of stage presence, vocal talent, sex appeal and lyrical poetry.
I also got into them a little later when Permanent Vacation came out (after hearing the classics Dude Looks Like A Lady and Angel) and have all their albums since then, although have not yet taken the time to go further back to their earlier stuff. I will definitely do so.
Like I said im my opening comment I'm a sucker for smutty lyrics (as in F.I.N.E.) and again this is why I also got into Prince. Anything rude that annoys your parents when youre growing up has to be good. But both P and Aerosmith can also obviously write the serious songs and ballads. In my opinion they write the best, most emotive rocks ballads.
The best of which imho is What It Takes...a sing out loud tearjerker classic.
I just hope they tour again here in the UK soon so i get to see them live.
