Maggot Brain is overrated. [Edited 11/6/06 0:44am] It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Well, both, but mainly the song. "You could say I'm a terminal case/You could burn up my clothes/Smash up my ride...well, maybe not the ride"

Well, both, but mainly the song. On the album, 'Hit It & Quit It' and 'Super Stupid' are my favorites

Maggot Brain is good. Guitar-wise, one of the very best.

This song was discussed forever on here damn near 2 years ago. I wish I could pull the thread up. But I'll say in a nutshell and a much, much shorter post compared to what I said then; This song is a MASTERPIECE. And Hazel's playing is majestic. A beautiful display of pain, despair and release. And is probably the biggest love gesture to Hendrix ever put out. Right alongside Voyage To Atlantis. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him." http://ccoshea19.googlepa...ssanctuary http://ccoshea19.googlepages.com

[Edited 11/6/06 0:44am] Not true. Not true at all. The song is a stunner. I think the rest of the album is slightly rote funk-by-numbers.

george clinton was once asked how he got that emotion out of eddie on that session. he asked eddie "what's the saddest thing you can imagine?" eddie's reply - "losing my mother". with that, 'maggot brain' was cut in one take.

I actually don't think the album is all that funky. Can you get to that is a mostly acoustic soul song (and a superb one at that), Hit it and quit it and Super Stupid are hard rock, Back in our minds is pure goofiness, Wars of Armaggedon is kind of a tape-collage jam-rock mess. That leaves you and your folks, me and my folks as the only unequivocal "funk" track on the album. I think all the songs except Wars are fantastic

Well, actually,I'd rather listen to Wars Of Armaggedon than Can You Get To That. I DON'T WANT TO BE NORMAL,because normal is part of the status quo, which I don't want to be a part of- Tori Amos
