The last George Duke album I bought was...
...After Hours Not funky. Specifically designed as a take your partner to bed type record. It seems as though the last few years his releases have been back to his roots as a Jazz player. No strictly funky Reach For It/Don't Let Go type releases if that's what you're looking for. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. ...
"From Me to You" was another great funk record from him(actually made in 1977, the same year as Reach for it". Unfortunately, I don't think it was reissued on cd, but used LP copies are still floating around. Also check out 1979's "Follow The Rainbow", which contained the great cut, "Say That You Will" Now, if you want deep, inside funk, you gotta go back to tA and CinisterCee's recommendations, "The "Aurra Will Prevail", "Feel", and maybe "I Love The Blues-She Heard My Cry" ...
