Michael Jackson to collect another award in London next month Michael Jackson will be in London next month to attend the World Music Awards.
On November 15th, Michael will receive the Diamond Award, only given to artists who have sold over 100 million albums. The ceremony is taking place at Earl's Court Arena. "The presence of Michael Jackson is very exciting for us," Melissa Corken, founder of the awards, told the Associated Press. The annual event is most famous for taking place in Monaco before it moved to America in 2004 and 2005. "We are thrilled to be bringing the World Music Awards to London, the music capital of the world." As well as the presentation of Michael's award there will be performances from Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Katie Melua and Andrea Bocelli. Actress Lindsay Lohan is said to be hosting. Fans looking to purchase tickets for the event can do so from Ticketmaster.co.uk from Tuesday. You can send those 10 bucks this way, please. It's the same reward others (Mariah Carey, JBJovi, ...) received in previous years. "It's better 2 B hated 4 what U R than 2 B loved 4 what U R not."

Good for him.
That aside, the quicker he's back making music again, the better.

This award show is known for being bullshit. They only give awards if people show up, not because they deserve any awards.
For god's sake, they have Lindsay Lohan hosting the ceremony, that just says it all right there.

Still, it's at Earls Court, a bus ride away from home and the cheapy front standing tickets go on sale tomorrow. I might as well givei t a go.

As with most people. Not often enough or else there wouldn’t be so many presenters accepting on the behalf of others. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

um..michael..it's just a birthday award. oh. Very strange how MTV had on their website the "Artist of the Millenium"- Michael Jackson, along with the other winners. My local newspaper even printed ALL of the winners, including Michael, the very next day. The newspaper had gotten their info from the MTV website. Even stranger is how MTV lied and pretended that they had never given him such an award, when it was on their website. Someone at MTV and "others" went out of their way to humiliate Michael. It's sad that people would be so vindicitive to want to do such a thing. Oh well, it only reflects their ignorance. [Edited 10/30/06 21:23pm]

No, what happened was that he was told he was to receive the award. MJ's camp were all told this and fans knew beforehand too. For some very ODD reason, that's not what they'd planned. Seriously, why would they get him to fly out and come on stage to accept a bloody birthday cake and then walk off? What sorry ass segment of the show was that supposed to be? It might have been even slightly understandable if Britney had sung Happy Birthday when he walked out

Mike, why do you have to show up when I am broke and not in UK???? "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Case closed Only Germany and that was just in 1989. He had a UK Top 10 this year though mainly for ironic comedy reasons. We love our "joke" releases.
