Z Cult Wondermint/Who Is Your Soulmate Here On The Org? Inspired by SoulAlive's thread about what happened to certain folks on this site and reading the posts, this question popped into my skull; Who here on this site do u consider to be your "musical" soulmate? Not just folks that u dig and u share the same tastes in music, cuz that can be many people. I'm talking about just one person, if u had to say, who would that person be? Who's your "soulmate" here on the org? I know ya'll feel ya'll have one. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

What a bunch of scaredy cats!! Here ya'll go; "I can't do that! I don't want to offend anyone by leaving someone out." Well, it's not about leaving anyone out and definately not about offending anyone. It was just about giving props to someone that u may feel u connect DEEPEST with, on a musical level. Example; If I had to say two people on here shared this, it would be Paligap and The Audience. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

I know who ISN'T my soulmate--anyone that said "women only make up 5% of my music collection" in that other thread. I can't be having that. I give mad props to women in music. That leaves maybe gangstafam as the orger who is most in tune with me musically.

go into any record store and you will see that women make up about 5% of music in stores as well.....c'mon women! pick up the guitar right now!

If that were true (which I doubt) then that 5% must be pure quality--not part of that watered-down 95% male crap.

Look at ya'll; I didn't ask to list your favorites on here. "Oh, I like so and so cuz we both like The Romantics. Oh yeah, and then there's so and so cuz he likes The Cure as much as I do." My children, my children.....
"My Children....they've turned against me just like Rocky did." SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

If it's not someone that you "share the same tastes in music" with, then what is it? Are you asking for something deeper? Someone that views music the way you do, even if you don't particularly like the same things? Someone that has similar listening habits?...you could have those and not share the same taste in music.
Does sharing near identical tastes in music, make one a musical soulmate? If so, I won't find one of those in 10 lifetimes. My taste in music changes with mood and/or what I'm doing. For that person's sake, I hope they don't exist. Could a musical soulmate be someone that has complimentary listening habits and tastes? Not blowin' smoke B, but the person I have the deepest connection (on the org.)is with you. I've talked to some cool people on here, but you and I have probably shared the same type of experiences with music and life in general.KISS, Bowie, P-Funk, Prince, women, guitars, family stuff..you know what time it is.

For that person's sake, I hope they don't exist. Could a musical soulmate be someone that has complimentary listening habits and tastes? Good questions. No, I would say that sharing "IDENTICAL" tastes in music certainly does not qualify as a musical soulmate. What that would qualify as is plain ole creepy. Plus, that's next to impossible. The term "soulmate" is subjective. It means whatever it means to YOU. U know in your gut what is and what isn't. It's not about digging the same music but perhaps WHY u dig the same music. And how that music makes u feel. Are the visions u get from that music similar? Deeper still, u can hear a song that u may not even like, but that song can represent something about someone else that u have learned about, that fits tailored made. It's a connection but again, it's subjective. It is what it is, to YOU. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

That's a pretty tall order.
To be honest, it would have to be the person i've had the most in depth musical (and otherwise) discussions with online and face to face offline. That being the case, paligap would be the one. I'm sure with closer contact, there'd be quite a few others that would also qualify. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Paligap was going to be my second choice for you. However, let Supernova come back and that would be a different matter altogether. She's a bad lady that knows her music but I bet she probably put more than just music on your mind. . . [Edited 10/31/06 14:34pm] Andy is a four letter word.

. . You nasty boy... Finess is right up there as we've hung out offline also. But I picked a currently active Orger. A couple of more shows with PFunkJazz and who knows. Probably need to drag bg out on the town with us one night. Now Supernova, she was something special... tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn.
