I remember a magazine showed all their pics calling them "Quincy's Supergroup."

That was a hot album. Finger On The Trigger, If It Hurts Just A Little, State Of Independence.

Has anyone heard that newer 90's version thats 11-12 minutes long with Chrissy Hynde (by Trevor Horne?) on vox? It's 3 parts to it.

Thanks for that. I always loved this song so much.Knowing some of my favorite artists were involved made it that much more special.

That's a great song. I need to get this CD. I think I'm going out in the rain today.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Probably not very hard to believe but Donna has yet another hits set on the market. It's part two of her "Millenuim Collection" and it's a Circuit City exclusive. It got most of the hits that were missing from the first including this one and it features, for the first time on any Donna Summer ablum, "I Got Your Love". What are you going to do? Damn labels!

nod yep,Quincy has said that this song, with it's all-star choir,is what inspired him when he produced the "We Are The World" project.

This is my favorite Donna Summer album of the 80s.I was thrilled to see her working with Quincy Jones, another one of my favorites.I love every song on the album, except for the overblown "Livin In America",perhaps.

Yeah,it's incredible that so many big artists appeared on that song.Quincy was able to get them all in the recording studio at the same time, which probably wasn't an easy thing to do.

interesting trivia: right after producing this album for Donna,Quincy went into the studio with Michael and spent two months producing what would become the biggest-selling album of all time: 'Thriller'.

There use to be a popular pic of Michael in the recording studio wearing sunglasses a t-shirt and dark blazer. His arms are crossed and he has on headphones. I used to think it was during the sessions for Thriller but it looks a lot like what he’s wearing in this footage.

Later, the same day after I first watched this clip I was driving and turned my iPod on shuffle. The second or third song to come on was State of Independence. Since that song has been loaded it has never come up before until that day. Weird.

Never heard that version, but it's interesting to me that several artists have re-made songs from this album.A year or so after this album was released,Heart did a cover version of "The Woman In Me" and it was only a few years ago that Sheena Easton covered "Love Is In Control (Finger On The Trigger)".This album is filled with songs that could easily be hits for other artists.I'm surprised that nobody has covered "Love Is Just A Breath Away"....a very powerful, passionate tune that someone like Christina Aguilera could probably turn into a smash hit.

See, I never really liked this album except for "Love Is Just A Breath Away", the only good song she co-wrote (the other being the terrible "Living In America"). I think "Love" is awesome but it's very dated and sounds a lot like something that could've been on "Thriller". Are you sure about that "Women In Me" cover? I thought it came later. You know what....it wasn't a year later....it was 11 years later. It appears on their 1993 album, "Desire Walks On".
