Janet Jackson made Aaliyah, Britney Spears and Ciara!!!

F*** the 2000's!!! I said it!

Even if Janet were to never have another mainstream hit ever again, she should be able to retire one day (...hopefully to become a mother) with her head held high knowing that she influenced/made Aaliyah (Rest In Peace), Britney Spears, and Ciara...

....the same way Michael Jordan made Kobe Bryant, Lebon James, Tracy McGrady, & Dwayne Wade!

EDIT: Damn it, I'm so fired up, I'm considering about calling myself JANFANFOREVER! (just kidding Mara, if you're reading this).

Agrees. I always found it weird how Britney would name Madonna as her influence when all I could see is Paula Abdul and Janet in her. Janet was highly influential. I'm sure more girls will appear in the long run besides Aaliyah and Ciara.

TBF, Britney actually did acknowledge Janet when she was promoting her debut album Baby One More Time.

Well she didn't keep it up then. When she became huge all I heard from her was Madonna.

And it's too bad Britney didn't kiss Janet neither.

Well Janet was heavily influence by her own brother.

Being influenced by Janet is being indirectly influenced by MJ. Everyone wants to be MJ. End of.

I understand what you trying to say brotha! No one was a bigger janet fan
than i. It is not 1997 no more though dawg. Ciara is the hottie of the moment
now even over the imcomparable janet.
By the way, george gervin and julius erving also paved the way and made
michael jordan.

.... and Prince made Janet. She was about to basically more or less be dropped with 2 bomb records, then they gave her a prince vibe.

co-sign nod

i think the controversy that surrounds her and sexual imagery hasn't been seen in another artist (shut it.. lol .) since Madonna. as far as global attention on every step she makes anyway. but her choreography and style is a page out of Janet's book. but when i saw Janet's All For You video i thought she was biting a bit from Britney..at least style wise. (clothes, weave, etc..)

i personally don't see a huge influence from Janet Jackson in Aaliyah. as far as Ciara.... her songs are bland. ok to groove to a little at a club. but for the most part i find her boring. but yes, the Janet thing is there. and the couple times i've seen her perform (television) she was stiff. disbelief definitely no Janet Jackson.

but for real...who cares if Janet influence, created, formed these girls. Everyone has an influence.....its just sad that Janet can't continue to be a great influence.

and I still don't see the aaliyah/ciara thing. I just see Janet when I look at Ciara but opinions, opinions, opinions smile

she made a the mold for a lot of folks that came after her, and not only the females.

in other news...with just under 25% of sales in, her cd is nowhere to be seen in the top 50.

That would also mean that Ashanti is also twice removed from Janet, because Aaliyah made her to. What ever happened to her anyway? Man, I wish Aaliyah was still around. She was awesome!
