Agrees. I always found it weird how Britney would name Madonna as her influence when all I could see is Paula Abdul and Janet in her. Janet was highly influential. I'm sure more girls will appear in the long run besides Aaliyah and Ciara.

i think the controversy that surrounds her and sexual imagery hasn't been seen in another artist (shut it.. .) since Madonna. as far as global attention on every step she makes anyway. but her choreography and style is a page out of Janet's book. but when i saw Janet's All For You video i thought she was biting a bit from Britney..at least style wise. (clothes, weave, etc..)

i personally don't see a huge influence from Janet Jackson in Aaliyah. as far as Ciara.... her songs are bland. ok to groove to a little at a club. but for the most part i find her boring. but yes, the Janet thing is there. and the couple times i've seen her perform (television) she was stiff. definitely no Janet Jackson.
