He put out a good album. I'm not sure why all the bashing around here... We all know he's just a pop star and not a multitalented musician like Prince. Just because he's having more commercial success doesn't mean he's going to overtake Prince's legacy.

it's not cool for some to admit they like somebody like Timberlake who was Nsync.

I don't bash him because I'm worried he could overtake Prince's legacy. He couldn't do that if Prince gift wrapped it and gave it to him with a big purple bow.

I bash him purely because he's a cowardly, whackass, wannabe that couldn't come up with an original musical concept if his life depended on it! cool

Nothing wrong with half of the album.

Prejudiced people won't ever give people that start out in the Mickey Mouse Club a break and keep adoring peadophiles like Michael Jackson.

I say, fuck them. I can at least dance to a few joints on Justin's album, is not something I can say about MOST songs on 3121.

I was pretty "eh" about it at first. But I gotta say, it's grown on me. Definitely a solid pop album. Still hate a few tracks...

"my love, my love, my love..."

like Prince created something that the Beatles, James Brown, Sly, EWF, Jimmi, and a few others hadn't done before.

if nobody had heard of justin timberlake before justified, half of the people who bash him would sing a different tune (namely, one of justin's). the other half who bash him do it because of his f'd up handling of the superbowl fiasco.

i don't care for his weak ass behavior but that doesn't change the fact that the cd is hot. so big deal, he rips off prince and other musicians, at least he does it well. my days of liking or disliking a pop star's music based on their personalities are long gone. if a performer makes music i like, i'll listen to it. if i only listened to music that was made by performer's whose personalities i liked i wouldn't be listening to most of the music i listen to, including prince.

justin timberlake is a pop performer. the only consideration for bashing him should be his music. you don't know him and he doesn't know you so stop acting like he spit in your mother's iced tea. lol

Oh yeah, I just love how folks like to project their feelings about Lovesounds/Futuresexy on other people...as if others are compelled to like it just because they do. lol

Maybe, just maybe...not liking the album has nothing to do with the Prince influence, Justin's background as a Mickey Mouse Club member or his personality.

IMO, JT's album is no better or worse than the music that his peers are putting out...yet, Beyonce, Usher, etc get ripped to shreds around here, but somehow, Justin is above being talked about negatively. confused

Justin's album is the shit....yeah I crank that shit up as LOUD as I can...It's a great pop album and well done...who cares if he's has a whole bunch of "Princely" undertones on this album...isn't it a form of flattery...he knows Prince is the motherfuckin' man...so lets just appreciate the fact that we can understand his lyrics....and can get a decent head bop out of a whole cd! Besides I have to hear something while I starve in between the months of waiting for Prince to push out another cd. For the looks of it ALL of us are about to go on a "diet" with this Vegas bit. mad

go back to the top of this thread. the people who are bashing him are doing so based not on his product but on his person.

and for the record, i thought usher's last record was enjoyable if not monotonous and i love beyonce's latest.

Why do soo many people hate Justin Timberlake soo much? His new album isn't the worst I've heard; I actually think it's a good pop album. Sure, he's unorignal, but who is original nowadays. Everytime I look at Gwen Stefani, I think Madonna, Debby Harry, and Marilyn Monroe (yet I still love me some Gwen). Everytime I see the Black Eyed Peas, No Doubt immediately jumps into my head (Fergie the next Gwen - I hope not). Everytime I look at Beyonce, I see Diana Ross (without the curly shefro she's always rockin'). Britney is emulating Madonna (in career and in her personal life at times, i.e, making babies with back-up dancers). I remember when Eminem first came out and people were saying the same thing, but how many of them soon changed their tunes. Talent can actually come in many forms. At least he doesn't pay people to write and produce his entire album and not even be present in the whole process. Every artist tries to sound like their idols at some point in their career. What's wrong with that? I don't understand what makes him fake. He used to credit how much he loved Donny Hathaway back when he was doing Nsync. Most young white kids probably don't even know who Donny Hathaway is. JT likes hip-hop, soul, and R&B and he infuses them into his music. I don't see the problem.
