Eminem ready to mix it up

Rapper's new CD, due in December, started out as a mix tape

Eminem will mark his return to record stores later this year with "Eminem Presents: The Re-Up," which is slated for release Dec. 5.

Originally conceived as a mix tape strictly for consumption on the streets, the compilation album will now be released by Interscope Records in the thick of the holiday season.



"What happened is that the material was so good and the tracks were getting produced like a regular album," Eminem said. "Instead of putting it out there rough and unfinished, I thought we should add some other new tracks, make it a real album and put it in the record stores to give these new artists a real boost."

The album, executive produced by Eminem, will include songs by Shady Records artists such as Stat Quo, Bobby Creekwater and Ca$his, as well as tracks by D12, 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Obie Trice, Akon and Em himself. The first single and video will be "You Don't Know," a track by Em, 50, Banks and Ca$his.

Eminem was adamant that "The Re-Up" will not be a tribute to his slain best friend Proof, who died in a shootout at an after-hours club in Detroit earlier this year, as previously reported.

"The D12 album and those unreleased songs with Proof are coming," Eminem said, "but ¿The Re-Up' is about these new artists and these new songs. It isn't fair to them or to the memory of Proof to mix them up."

I thought he was done. He made a song and everything about leaving "When I'm Gone."

Im done with this guy, first he's a parody then he's serious and then he's retiring and now he's back. Im sure the label pushed him into this release since sales in general for the year are horrible at this point labels will put anything out they think they can squeeze a million out of. Dont know what the public reaction will be be to it, especially with Jay z coming out, might not be a wise idea to put this out now. And working with Lloyd Banks and 50 cent, can we say goodbye to these two already.

I'm sorry, but I just can't get excited about Eminem's brand of hip-hop. I like The Roots, Gangstarr, ATCQ, De La Soul, Rahzel, Common, Mos Def, Eric B & Rakim, Jungle Brothers, and this guy just has nothing I'd ever want to listen to.

He's feud with Moby was childish. What Moby said about Eminem being a bad role model for his daughter was out of line, and Eminem should have just sued him, which would have caused Moby more harm. Instead Eminem started to act like a school bully, and acting violently to his fellow dork Moby is pathetic because who's scared of Moby.

One release from him is too much.

I dug his first 2 albums, who didn't? Then i think he did that "without me" track, which was hella annoying as i was getitng sick of him by then. As some others on here have said, he needed to take a break from the spotlight.

MTV were all over him. At every award show, there he was. He put on a really dull show.

So it's a compilation album, so if it tanks, he can always claim it wasn't a full album.

Something tells me that "20 Y.O" might end up considered a compilation album....you know because of "Control"...An anniversary compilation?
