Top 10 Albums Of All Time

Now, Eye know that this is a Prince.org.. but eye would like to know the org's top 10 albums (besides Prince).. the ones that really mean alot to you.

Here's my List. (Not in any paticular Order)

Jeff Buckley-Grace. Eye love this album, every song, and eye really wish he was still around, what sound he made while he was here.. is really wonderful. Last Goodbye brings a lot of emotions up in me.. and its great.

George Harrison-All Things Must Pass This 2cd set came in2 my life when eye really needed it.. the songs touched me, and it became quickley a special set.

John Lennon-Double Fantasy Aside from all the crappy Yoko tracks.. there are some really nice John Lennon songs (Watching the Wheels, Woman)

Paul McCartney-Flowers In The Dirt You rarely here about this one, but it was a Paul cd that took at least a year to grow on me.. and now its one of my fav.

Jimi Hendrix-Axis Bold As Love my fav set of songs from jimi. Bold as love is his masterpiece in my eye's.

George Michael-Listen Without Prejudice George really got me on this one.. Praying For Time is a great song (in tribute to John Lennon)

Radiohead- OK Computer This cd got me hooked on Radiohead.. also *everything in its right place* is amazing. also, if u like radiohead, and have access to bootlegs, check out Radiohead Unplugged, its a collection of acoustic songs (released and unreleased)

PM DAWN-Jesus Wept another cd eye had to listen to many times.. this cd is like a work of art to me.. a collage of sounds, that paints a scene in ure mind.. eye love it.

The Beatles-White Album Great set.. all the songs are timeless.

George Michael-Songs From the Last Century this collection of songs he remade were a nice change from alot of things that were coming out at the time.. (1999) all eye heard were dance songs to usher us in2 the next mill. but George changed his style for this one.. and it was a nice change.

Ok there's mine.. in a week, if u asked me, it would probably change a little but thats how it is for now:)

& can make pompous sentences like: "'Top 10 Albums Of All Time'" when they know nothing
heres my choice:

I don't have any problems with the music that americans like , but honestly your choices were quite ridiculous: makes me think about a S King/ T Clancy/ best sellers-only reader who would talk to me about the "Top 10 books of all Time"
" that what we have u for.." who are "we" & "u" for what? Elaborate please, since when economical/military superiority have something to do with music and makes you better than the rest of the world?

These are the ones that do it for me, in no particular order:

1. Grease soundtrack
2. Tom Waits - Bone Machine
3. Terence Trent D'Arby - Symphony or Damn
4. Men At Work - Business As Usual
5. Sultans of Ping F.C. - Casual Sex in the Cineplex
6. Star Wars: A New Hope soundtrack
7. The Beatles - 1
8. Johnny Cash - Folsom Prison
9. Billy Joel - The Complete Hits Collection
10. The Blues Brothers - Complete

And if I could throw in Prince, it would be 1999, Sign "O" The Times, & the 'Symbol' album.

TRON

I'm a sucker for these lists. This changes slightly now and then, but here's where I'm at...

1. Bowie- Low/"Heroes" (possibly the most creative thing I've ever heard)
2. Bjork- Vespertine/Homogenic (she just keeps getting better)
3. Joy Division- Unknown Pleasures or Substance, can't decide
4. New Order- Substance
5. The Cure- Seventeen Seconds or Disintegration, again can't decide
6. Liz Phair- Exile in Guyville
7. Tricky- Maxinquaye
8. Madonna- Ray of Light
9. Smashing Pumpkins- Mellon Collie
10. Sade- Lover's Rock

more than 10 I know, but I just have a general grouping. this isn't necessarily the order.

This is my top ten for NOW.
My list changes daily.

Amadeus. Orignal Movie Soundtrack. (just remastered) Awsome music, awsome movie.
Blue. Joni Mitchell. Maybe an obvious choice but is her best album, looking at the fact you can play it front to back. "My Old Man"
Little Earthquakes. Tori Amos. Emotion piled high.
Violator. Depeche Mode. Waiting For The Night To Fall.
Cookie. Me'shell NdegeOcello. This woman keeps moving onward. Her music moves the soul like Prince's music only rarely does these days. Live jams excluded that is.
Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway. If the music does not move ya ("Mood" and "Be Real Black For Me") then you're dead. Also beautful art design.
Times Squared. Eric Leeds. This man was one of the movers of The Revolution. Everybody is always talking about W&L's influence; do not overlook this man. This album brings out the best of Prince, because here two people (and others like Levi & Sheila) created some of the best music out of Pailey Park. Personally; I think they should make some more. Also note that the two Prince only compositions are the weakest of the bunch...
The Rising. Bruce Springsteen. My pal Bruce made an awfully chilling album, mainly inspired by September 11th last year. Bruce shows the other 40 somethings (Madonna, Prince and Michael Jackson) that there is nothing wrong with being The Boss.
Girl Bros. Girl Bros. Another chilling album. Two women not afraid to delve deep into their fears and creating another front to back album...
The Color Purple. Original Soundtrack. The orchestral music is wasted on me, but the original music, like Miss Celie's Blues never fails to move me...

And the latest two NiN releases that move me from anger to tenderness...

And everything on this list too.
Bjork.
Bowie
The Cure
Joy Division

Is all stating the obvious.
I think I am going to play Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss me tonight

Pagey

"George Harrison-All Things Must Pass This 2cd set came in2 my life when eye really needed it.. the songs touched me, and it became quickley a special set. "

I had a similar experience with the 1st listening of this album...it has become my fave of all time. A beautiful listen. A very personal and also awesome sounding album.

Others in my top 10 in no particular order,

The Beatles, The White Album
The Band, The Last Waltz & Brown Album
Led Zeppelin, Physical Graffiti
The Clash, London Calling
Pink Floyd, Wish You Were Here
Oasis, Definitely Maybe
Rolling Stones, Exile On Main St
Neil Young, Harvest

Yep I am pretty much a Classic Rock junkie...

As for McCartney...Flowers In The Dirt is a great album. Songs like Figure of Eight, Put It There, & My Brave Face ranks right along side of some of his Beatles classics. My fave Paul solo albums are Run Devil Run & MTV Unplugged. Paul needs to stick with the stripped down, just pure rock 'n' roll sound.

Beatles - White Album
Beatles - Sgt. Peppers
Lauryn hill - Miseducation
Prince - Purple Rain
Prince -
Beastie Boys - License to Ill
Michael Jackson - Thriller
Paul McCartney - All the Best (I know, cheating a bit with a compilation album)
Nirvana - Nevermind
B.B. King - Deuces Wild
Grease the soundtrack (who didn't listen the shit out of this one!)

Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another
