No way! "Angel" alone saves it from sucking.

True, true. But if they had a longer carreer, they would have made their own 'Tonight" eventually, you know that, don't you?

But you do name the band that can do no wrong in my ears either. Not many other artists measure up to so much brilliance, even taking into account how short their recording carreer was.

Then there are a lot of bands that have only one or two albums I really like, like Andrea Parker and Portishead.

I think you're the only other person on this site that gets it.

The funny thing about JD is that as soon as Ian died and they regrouped as New Order, they made their "Tonight". New Order's first album isn't crap, but it isn't great either. Everything they did after that was much MUCH better, don'tcha think?

I don't listen to them anymore, but I think the closest to unconditional love I ever came was the Smiths with the exception of Queen is Dead (the song) hate that song!!!

me too! I really used to like every single thing U2 did.

feeling ill at Bono's lyrics. They pretty much ruin any good about the songs. Especially 'Miami'; just can't get behind the goofyness of it. I know it's intentional, and I like it when U2 lets loose and has fun (I think Discotheque is underrated), but 'Miami, my mammy'? I don't know that I can let that pass.

It's like 'I Love New York' by Madonna. I really like the music, the beat, the rhythm. I like everything about it but the lyrics. To me, they're bad enough to ruin the song forever.

I can honestly say that I like every song by The Smiths. The only one I can think of that I don't really like is a cover, anyway.

However, I think part of that is the fact that they were only together for five years. They broke up before they had a chance to jump the shark.

Roxy Music was together for ten years, and I could probably say that I like all of their songs as well.

Naturally, I couldn't say the same for the solo artists from these bands (Morrissey and Bryan Ferry, respectively) who are still recording today.

Hmmm - interesting question.

I do enjoy all of George Michaels solo work. I can't think of a song that I don't like.

I also like all of D'Angelos work. It's limited, so maybe that's why I can say I like all his songs.

No, it isn't that great. "Dreams Never End" is still one of the best songs ever done by either JD or NO, though. nod

Yeah, I like it. "Senses" is pretty good too. But it just seems like a half-assed, watered-down version of JD to me.

I've never heard a song by Love that I didn't like.
Ditto w/ the Arctic Monkeys (though they've only put out one album, so I'll give em time)

So you like 'Xstatic Process', 'Freedom', 'Shoo Be Doo', 'One More Chance', and 'Don't Stop'?

I like all those, except Freedon. Xstatic Process is one of the highlights of American Life. Shoo Bee Doo is a cute ballad on par with Crazy for You, yes i said that. One More Chance has taken years to grow on me, but now i can handle it. And Don't Stop is a great change of pace from an otherwise, ballad littered album.

Exactly same here! I can't stand early-Beatles, but I LOVE later Beatles.
It's almost as if they were completely different bands.
