I love "M'lady" and "Thankyouforlettingmebemicelfagain" or however it's spelt.

I love The Jackson's "Triumph."

I love Van Hunt's second album.

I love Jam & Lewis's "Didn't Mean To Turn You On".

I love "Canned Heat" by Jamiroquai.

I want more music in this vein. Anyone recommend me any artists/groups/songs I should hear?

There´s one song that came to my mind after reading funky/disco - it´s Enaya Day´s Nasty Girl.

But yeah, Jamiroquai ain´t bad.

Ashford and Simpson had this funky cut titled "Found A Cure". I love it. Not sure if they have anything else out that funky, though. Their biggest hit is "Solid", you know.

Funky disco...of course! My recent discovery of Claudja Barry!



Most of her stuff is out of print (her "Best OF" is listed as still available but I think it's out of print and the web needs to catch up!) but she is funky. Her album "I Wanna Be Loved By You" is really hot, filled with different types of songs. Two highlights are the big hit "Boogie Woogie Dancin' Shoes" and a cover titled "Heavy Makes You Happy", which is combined as a medely with the classic, campy title track...odd combo but intersting!

Depends on what era you want. I listened to a lot of Disco from 1975-1980 when I got into New Wave. Rhapsody from Real Music has a great selection of Disco and 80s 12 inch versions and iTunes. I downloaded Prince's Let's Work 12 inch a month ago and Donna Summer's Four Seasons of Love.
