Jamie Lidell 'When I come back around' (Fink/Prince style keys) Haven't posted here for some time so I may have missed a past thread but has anyone heard the Fink style keys on this track? http://www.bbc.co.uk/coll...au_bb.ram, Jamie Lidell is another UK soul export whose Multiply cd is highly recommended and he reminds me of Amp Fiddler on most tracks, what do you think?
You can also see some live stuff here http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/...e/A4174968

YES!
It's about time someone made a proper thread for the Freeform Remix of "When I Come Back Around." Who cannot hear that obvious Prince sample?! Multiply Additions is such a hot album. One of my fave electronic records this year. ... [Edited 9/23/06 9:34am]

CarrieMpls was just talkin bout this guy
I'm intrigued...mostly cos he's coming to MPLS soon with Hot Chip. Which is another band I haven't heard but was told by someone I trust that I'd LOVE. I'll have to check this out...

I keep harping on about Jamie Lidell to folks who don't know. I can't state how amazing this guy is live where his true talents shine through and you should catch him if you get chance. He begins by beatboxing, then sampling his sounds and laying them on top of one another until he has a full song. This is complimented with a really sweet, soulful voice which 'Multiply' highlights. Also check out his material with Christian Vogel as part of Super_Collider.

Right now I'm digging Skye's (Morcheeba's) album "Mind How You Go." Very laid back vibe. If you like downbeat electronica or trip hop, I say go for this. Also, Jay-Jay Johanson is coming out with a new album entitled "The Physical Effects are Not Yet Known"... he recently shot a video for "She Doesn't Live Here Anymore" and it's available @ his myspace (http://www.myspace.com/jayjayjohanson) Plus, you can check out my music blog :: http://www.devonevermore.com/pocketrock And I sound like a broken record, but please check out... The Presets :: Beams (2006) [one of the best debuts I've heard in years and one of the top albums of this decade] Lo-Fi-Fnk :: Boylife (2006) [playful swedish electropop] Infadels :: We Are Not The Infadels [British electronic rock, very masculine dance album] Junior Boys :: So This Is Goodbye [lots of grooves on this one, sparkling sound]

As I'm know you were all wondering, I have decided to go to the Jamie Lidell/Hot Chip show
I spent the weekend sampling Hot Chip's albums and I really liked 'em. I did check out a few of Jamie Lidell's tracks too and liked what I heard.
