do you like every song you've heard from your favourite artist(s)? people always find it crazy when they ask me, "so what's your favourite song by..." mmmm let's say.....Madonna or Kylie ..and i reply "all of them. i don't have one i like more than the other." i guess some people think it's impossible to like every song by an artist. sure i go through moods where i'm into one album or song more than others; i think we all do. and also, that's another reason they are my favourite artists.

who are your favourite artists and do you like every song by them or which songs do you dislike by them?

Hmm. I'll have to think about it. There aren't many that have a perfect track record for me. Bjork is probably the closest.

Björk: i pretty much like everything from her. but i have to admit there are some that i can do with out. my co-workers always make fun of her. today, as i was playing a Björk cd i made, one of them told me she would take Neil Diamond over Björk, but would only slightly choose Björk over P!nk.

I pretty much like everything Anita Baker does. I consider at least two of her albums perfect.

Oh I thought of one. I love Love LOVE every song by Joy Division. They never played a bum note as far as I'm concerned.

And ya know, for all of the countless songs I've heard by Prince, there are relatively only a handful that I truly dislike. And most of them start after 1990. I'll try to come up with a list.

i feel that way about Ben Folds.. I think I like just about every single song he's ever written.

New York, When Love Comes to Town, Elvis Presley and America, Miami, Babyface all suck. U2 has about 7 or 8 I don't like...

Not a fan at all of 75% of REM's Around the Sun album, so that would disqualify them.

Can't stand Little 15, Macro, Somebody, and quite a few songs on their earlier LPs, so I guess Depeche Mode is out.

Pearl Jam has all of those experiments scattered throughout their CDs like Bugs, Heyfoxymophandlemamathat'sme, Rats that I think suck. Plus I think that there are a half dozen songs between Riot Act and Binaural that I could never listen to again.

I think that as the catalog gets larger, the possibility of releasing a dud every now and then gets exponentially bigger. To me, the fact that there are only about 8 U2 songs I don't like is amazing; that means that I still dig pretty much everything they've done.

Also, when these artists do release some dregs (and there is no other word than dreg to describe 'Miami' or 'New York'), I can overlook it because the rest of their catalog is filled with 'Running to Stand Still' and 'Kite' - s.

But you do name the band that can do no wrong in my ears either. Not many other artists measure up to so much brilliance, even taking into account how short their recording carreer was.

Then there are a lot of bands that have only one or two albums I really like, like Andrea Parker and Portishead.

Only Crowded House qualifies. It helps that they only released 5 albums, but they're all fantastic. My other favorite artists (Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye) are just too prolific for me to like everything (although it's pretty close).
