either i'm schizophrenic, been replaced with a j-pod, or my initial reaction to 20 YO was premature

here's the deal: i've been grooving to the cd all day. on my way to school i decided to listen to 20 YO properly. not on the computer from some bet.com stream but actually on my daily grind. somehow it clicked for me.

the elevator opened as janet said "breathe" and from that point on i was jamming to the cd. i think partly because at 6am i need some jams and also because i've already dealt with my expectations having been dissed. lol i'm actually enjoying most of the cd and even used the good majority of it (just minus the slow grooves) for part of my cardio session today).

anyway, i have no problem admitting my change of heart. in fact, i'm thrilled i'll be able to enjoy the cd. who wants to wait another 4 years for a new janet project? not me, that's for sure. i may as well enjoy this era while its here.

that said, get it out me is the fookin' jam! "let me break it down one time (break it down now)" dancing jig

Just a little FYI, schizophrenia is not "split-personality". A popular misconception.

And I still need to actually check out this album, I think...that it sucks might also be a popular misconception.

hmmm

Same here. When I listened to the streaming I was disappointed and had no intentions of picking it up. I read some statements here and became more intrigued. I've listened to it all afternoon and on a night ride home. This is a nice release. One thing though: it's short! But maybe that's a good thing. A lot of replay value ala' The Roots latest disc. The ballads are really standout and Janet is in a nice transition.

And yeah Disassociative Indenity Disorder refers to split personality. Schizophrenia is a different psychotic disorder

for the record, I've avoided most all reviews since the early reactions here on the Org.

I'm still quite jaded from the last 2 albums and the fact that I REALLY want her to keep her clothes on for a damn minute.

But we'll see...the BF plans to get it when we do our shopping this weekend. If he can find it for 9.99

biggrin
