The Adventures Of Mimi Tour

excited

Ok first opened up with Busta Rhymes and his sidekick from the Flipmode Squad, Spliff Star, along with DJ Scratch. Ran thru Busta's set of hits: "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See", "Break Yo Neck", "Woo Hah", "In The Ghetto (Ghetto Life)", "Touch It", "Scenario Remix" (verse), "Pass The Courvoisier", "What It Is" trying to get alot of the crowd up and rowdy. He did that Mariah collabo song "Give It To Me" but without Mariah, there was like a half hour break where the houselights came back on and everyone got beer.

The big "MC" curtain opened, the lights came down and immediately the concert started with "It's Like That" (Mariah appeared as seen above, wind machine and all lol).. on a second level above the band.. there was a curling staircase on either side of the stage to lead to the main stage. Lots of overhead projections of Mariah so everyone could get a good look at what was going on.

One part that blew my head off was when her band was playing "Dreamlover" for the first verse and hook, then the beat to Notorious BIG "Juicy" came on, and I'm like confuse what's going on now, and she starts in with the second verse, continuing "Dreamlover" in a mashup!! omfg

Most of the concert was performed at the main stage but there was also a stage in the centre of the floor, wasn't connected to the main stage, and Mariah did a set out there.. "Fantasy" (with the projected ODB rapping on the main screen, Mariah flanked by poppin' dancers), "Don't Forget About Us" and "Always Be My Baby".

Trey Lorenz (from Unplugged) was there to duet "I'll Be There" with her, and he had his own little set, covering Luther Vandross "Never Too Much" "House Is Not A Home" then Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy".

I should try and find a setlist here. My friends all heard they favorite songs ("Vision Of Love", "My All", "Heartbreaker") , and so did I: "Honey"... the synth bassline and drums were played live and she sounded awesome! Funkeh.

Encore was "We Belong Together" and "Hero". touched

Yeah i loved the MC show here in NYC at Madison Square Garden, she sounded great, looked amazing as always, i just skipped the Sean Paul opener, i was in the 9th row center and let me tell you, Mariah could possibly have the worlds greatest thighs. smile Sorry i know that has nothing to do with music smile

So I was talking with a coworker who also saw Madonna's tour this summer, and also saw Mariah Carey last night (although we didn't go together). Him and I agree that we actually enjoyed Mariah's show more than Madonna's! nod

Definitely recommend The Adventures Of Mimi tour to any interested orgers. thumbs up!

From all the reviews i have seen, they all have been very positive, especially on the ballads. For the shows i saw she was Vocally very strong, and YES she does have stage presence, though i wish she pushed it even more, she seems to still holding back, like she is worried, i think she still at times lacks self confidence, i know thats hard to believe seeing her outfits but she does.

woot!

That's great. I was right at the corner of that little stage and that's where I could see how amazing she looked. The wind machine too much and yet so perfect for her dramatics. She loves that stuff and I can't help but love it too.
Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off
