I swear in 1989 my friends and I heard Jive Talking and I thought the announcer had said it was GM...But obviously I was wrong. Next time you hear it, let me know if you'd think GM could cover it perfectly.

Freek should be in there. Much more original than something like Outside and would certainly be more entertaining than First time I ever saw your face.

Glad to see he is starting the show with my favourite song. I'm just hoping he might finally put the full version of Waiting on the next album.

I hope he does play Freeek at some point. pray Although I love Outside as well. I love his interpretation of other people's songs but I hope he gets rid of the cover versions - it's his songs people are going to hear, I'm sure. wink

Maybe there'll be a dvd of this tour. pray

Indeed it should. It's a cracking setlist though.

Probably. nod I never thought I'd get the chance to see him live so this is a dream come true, in some ways. He may never tour again after this, who knows?

God, after spending so much on an Ebay ticket, we're going to have to pack you off to Australia in a parcel! lol

SSB, it is listed on various GM discographies, under the artist Boogie Box High. George Michael sang on the track. More information here: http://www.whamshake.com/jive.html (posted below to make life easier):

Boogie Box High
Jive Talking

If one rumour was talked about back in 1987 then it has to be this one: Does George Michael sing on that Boogie Box High single? Well, the answer of course is yes and the song was a hit no matter whether people knew it or not. The video for the track also didn't give the public a clue as it was fully animated. Like so often before it was the coverage taking place in the press that gave the project the promotional kick it needed to make customers curious enough to buy the single.

Long-time Bee Gees admirer George (he was 15 years of age when Saturday Night Fever hit the silver screens across Britain) probably had a lot of fun while working together with Andreas Georgiou (George's cousin) and Chris Porter (George's engineer since the Wham! days) who both produced the track.
Someone like T. Roy Morris also featured on the Boogie Box High album Outrageous as background singer and keyboardist on many tracks and you may take a guess who that is?
Another interesting fact by the way: co-executive producer besides Georgiou was Simon Halfon who later co-designed the sleeves for Andrew Ridgeley's and many of George's releases.

The song's versions are as follows:

Jive Talking (7" Version) (3'40'')
Jive Talking (12" Version) (4'36'')
Jive Talking (Fever Pitch Mix) (4'33'')
Jive Talking (Remix) (6'55'')
Jive Talking (Album Version) (4'04'')

It's not one of my favourites as such but it's one of those singalong classics. And if he plays it near Xmas itself... fantastic!

I son't know if this has been posted but "25" is going to be released 3 different ways...

Having just embarked on his first tour in 15 years, George Michael will offer his fans three other ways to experience his greatest hits this fall. Epic will on Nov. 14 issue two- and three-disc editions of the compilation "Twenty Five," as well as a two-DVD collection of music videos.

Three new tracks will appear on the two-CD album, including a duet with Paul McCartney on "Hear the Pain" as well as "An Easier Affair" and "This Is Not Real Love." A fourth new song, "Understand," will only be available on the three-disc set, which combines the two-CD track list with 15 extra songs on the third CD.

The DVDs collect 40 videos, ranging from Wham!'s "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" to "Round Here" from 2004's "Patience."
