I'll start with "Try Me, I Know We Can Make It" since it's your thread.
Absolutely a top shelf song for me.

Too many songs from that era that I love. The problem with me I remember the songs but not necessarily the artist that sang the songs;
My favs are: What's Going on by Marvin Gaye(The whole album) The Love I lost Backstabbers Haven't seen her Sad, sweet Dreamer and lots of the J5/Stevie wonder/curtis Mayfield stuff and much more that I can't remember. I even like some of the Osmonds and David Cassidy stuff.

The album version is 18 minutes of perfection on wax. I think it's her best song.

The 70s was just a wonderful era for black, soul music. Whether it was deep stuff from the likes of Marvin and Curtis or the more so-called "bubble gum" soul from the likes of the J5. That's the decade when black music really came alive in it's own right.

theAudience said: long ass list was here with one glaring omission
You seem to have forgotten one very important band it seems. And you can't throw Bad Company and Heart in there and not someone else IMO. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

SoulAlive said: I'm sick of discussing Justin Timberlake,Ciara and all the other crap artists of today.Let's discuss REAL music from a more exciting,more creative era what are your favorite songs from the 70s? There's no way I can remember them all. I DON'T WANT TO BE NORMAL,because normal is part of the status quo,which I don't want to be a part of- Tori Amos
