New Vikter Duplaix Album

Anyone digging Vikter Duplaix's new album, 'Bold and Beautiful'? He has some tracks on his myspace site (www.myspace.com/duplaix) if you haven't heard it.

Well, I guess Prince has heard it according to Jawn Murray.

"Prince was among those at singer Vikter Duplaix's album listening party at the M.J. Higgins Gallery in downtown Los Angeles..."

He has a new album too? He’ll have to go on the list until I get a second job to support this music habit.

Here is a link to his latest single "Nothing Like Your Touch." Hopefully it's ok to post this.

Sorry, but alternative soul is really hurtin these days.

I tried, but his voice does absolutely nothin' 4 me.

I guess since guys like D'Angelo, Maxwell, Eric Benet, etc. have all fallen off, non-singin' muggs like this can get away with it.

I mean, at least we have a cat like Van Hunt doing his thing though...

Peace.

I would never compare him to any of the guys you mentioned. I don't think his style is neo or alternative soul.

Yeah, I'm hoping 4 some deep shit from Max. I really wonder who he recorded with. I'm pretty sure my D.C. crew isn't involved anymore. (think of the Bass Guitar, Drums, and Keys from 'Urban Hang Suite'). I wonder also if Stu Mattheman was involved with this one. 4 me, 'Urban Hang Suite' hit me immediately, and never wore off on me. 'Embrya' didn't hit me as quickly, but grew on me, and I can never get sick of that album. 'Now' sorta hit me, and wore off with THE QUICKNESS. We'll just have 2 see (or hear) what this new project brings...

As far as Vikter Duplaix, I can only "judge" from what I heard on his MySpace, but what can I say... it does nothing 4 me... and YES, the marketing will most definately be toward neo soul, although vocally, he's pretty conventional.

Peace.

I don't know how "deep" it'll be, but I hope it makes it off the shelf... unlike one of my favorite artists who shall remain nameless *cough*Bilal*cough

and it's coming out the day BEFORE V-day.
