Its not better than the first, but just as good.

First 2 had Ed Stasium. The sound is just not good ,and the songs are just average or below.

Awesome album.
"Type" is my favorite LC song, but "Pride", "Elvis Is Dead", "Information Overload", "Ology", "Fight the Fight" and "Solace of You" are all up there! Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

I actually love Stain (3rd) and Collideoscope (4th). This may be blasphemous to LC fans but Stain is my favorite followed by Collideoscope. I love the first 2 and they are classics but I'm drawn to the more extreme experimental nature of the newer stuff. Just my preference. Great band great music, anyway you look at it. Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

well if you were a fan back in the day...this was the album that pretty much led to their decline.....sad to say but album sales meant everything to them back then.....i mean coming out of the box with their debut, opening for the Rolling Stones....they had so much pressure on them and Corey Glover developled an ego larger than he should have....plus Amerikkka was really never ready to accept a black rock band....sad but true

There was TERRIBLE friction between Vernon and Cory during the recording of 'stained'. They broke up soon after. I infered from interviews that Cory wanted to move in a more 'commercial' direction.

I can't find anything wrong with STAIN. Though not a love at first hearing, it was on me had to catch up to what they were doing. I freakin' love that record! COLLIDEOSCOPE may have its detractors as per it's sonic tableau, but I dig it, plus it brought the guys all back together.
I never heard about Corey's urge to be more commercial until now. I have to say it reeks of pure crappola. The band allowed him the freedom to pursue acting and on a showcase to support his solo album, HYMNS he sang a lot of LC songs. Granted sales is at the bottom of everything, but what I've heard from Vernon (it's his band) is a vague failure on his part to keep the band informed of their next step and they just drifted apart. in any case, the band is back together. They've been on a hiatus to accomodate individual projects, but the word is to look to 2008 for an album and tour. test

2008...
Well at least they still have plans. I wish they would release some DVDs to tie us over until then. I think they get more intersting musically and better as they get older.Which is rare among any artists. Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

Dang, I'm supposed to be writing, and I've listened to Corey Glover's "April Rain" at least 6 times in a row, now. Just astounded by that man's voice.

should that matter in the grand scheme of things? If America was ready to accept a black rock band? Funkadelic basically was one of the premeire rock bands. If you look on the surface, you would think that they were ignored by America but with Pearl Jam, Audioslave, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, etc redoing some of their cuts live in concert, someone is paying attention. I think that Living Colour should stick to doing what they feel, regardless what America is ready for.

I had a Guitar World magazine with an interview with Vernon when his first solo album (mistaken identity) was just released in the mid-ninties. The interviewer asked Vernon if his relationship with Cory had become an 'Eddie Van Halen-David Lee Roth' situation with regards to the bands direction. Vernon said yes, and that even though their opinions differed, he still respected Cory for his 'musical honesty'.

well if you look at the credits, Reid wrote their best stuff and when i used to go see them live, Corey looked so full of himself it wasn't even funny.....too bad because they really could have made it
