Starpoint ever worked with Prince? In 1885 Starpoint released this track called 'What you been missin' from their album 'Restless' and it sound very Prince to me...
Do you happen to know if he had anything to do with it? It sure sounds like a Purple Rain outtake. I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

The majority of their stuff was produced by Lionel Job. They recorded a couple of pretty good electro-funk tracks, like 'Wanting You' or 'He Wants My Body' (the latter is more of a dance track) I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

As stated earlier starpoint during their heyday primarily worked with Lionel Job who later worked with the forgettable Joe Public(live and learn fame)and Keith Sweat(keep it comin). There were like 4 phillips brothers in the group and the one who sang lead whenever renee diggs didn't primarily produced other tracks for them. Another one of the more underrated groups. I have 4 of their albums. Love object of desire, restless, what you been missin, he wants my body, prove it tonight, tough act to follow, etc. One of the best concerts i seen back in the 80's was barkays, confunkshun, starpoint, atlantic starr, and doug e.fresh w/ slick rick. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Starpoint were huge Prince fans.I saw them on "Video Soul" with Donnie Simpson and they mentioned that Prince was one of their influences.Their sexy 1983 hit "Delicious" sounds alot like a Prince production, imo.

Starpoint's "What You've Been Missing" sounded like a Prince song? I can't hear that. But to answer your question, these two acts never worked together. [Edited 9/21/06 5:43am] THE TRAFFIC JAMMERS, The Org's house band: VAINANDY -- lead singer; NAJEE -- bass; THE AUDIENCE -- guitar; PHUNKDADDY -- rhythm guitar; ALEX de PARIS -- keyboards; Da PRETTYMAN -- keyboards; FUNKENSTEIN -- drums.
