recent cover of a B-52'2 hit? On the radio yesterday, I could have sworn I heard a song that was either a cover or a close resemblance to a B-52's hit.
The problem is that I don't remember the name of the song. I'm not even sure it was a B-52 song. And it actually could have been the original, but I don't think so. Has anyone heard this song? It's driving me crazy. I was a really strong dance track..not "Love Shack," but another B52's hit with really strong female vocals.

No, but thanks for taking the time to respond and posting the link. This song has a lot of drums.. with the female lead vocalist singing this really cool vocal, then the guy sort randomly jumps in with more spoken word. It sort of sounds like the B52's, but maybe it was another band altogether. It's driving me nuts. I've been singing it to people, but they just look at me like lol Now it's in my head, and it won't stop!!

That's what's driving me nuts: I just didn't pay attention to the lyrics that much. It was more the melody and the drums. The woman's voice was great. It really sounded the the lead singer from the B52's, but then again it could have been another band. I'm "La la" singing it right now, but---ah it's hopeless. Thanks anyway. I'm a mess.

Maybe you should go to iTunes or something and sample every B-52's song they have. That way you can make sure it's not them.

I have this funny feeling that I've confused the bands.

Not that it's a recent song by any stretch of the imagination, but could it be 'Shiny Happy People' with REM and Kate Pierson from the B52's?
Kate also dueted with Iggy Pop a little while back. Can't remember what the song was called, though. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

Other hits by the B-52s include: "Rock Lobster" "52 Girls" "Good Stuff" "Planet Claire" "Private Idaho" "Channel Z" "Deadbeat Club" "Debbie" "Mesopatamia" There are probably others. Despite a few cracks at the charts, they aren't known for huge singles but there songs do get played on different places. For example, Fred Sheinder has a show on Sirius and they tend to play a lot of there songs on that channel (1st Wave). I want to say that I also heard a B52 cover. Not sure what it was either.
