(ok, i'm just copying and pasting from another thread on the same topic cuz i didn't know this one was here.)
after listening to all 13 tracks including the bonus tracks BET was so kind to include, i like only 3 songs. I'm diggin' "this body"...its pretty hot. i'm also really enjoying "with u." the first time i heard a clip of that i was not impressed but i actually really like the track. i LOVELOVELOVE "enjoy!" i think "enjoy" is one of her best songs in a long, long time. sadly, that's it. all of the other songs either sound to generic for me to really care about them or i just flat out dislike them. the first four songs are simply ok. typical, run of the mill, generic rnb tracks. actually, excluding the three songs i mentioned by title, the whole album is mediocre at best. and i think i'm being generous in that assessment. i know the janet brigade is gonna roll up in here and tell me how much i suck and how much this record is the best in her career and blah blah puke. i'm ok with that. i hope the majority of her longtime fans don't fall in line with my opinion of the record. personally, janet has been my favorite female pop star since...oh, i don't know...forever. i'm incredibly disappointed. i hear JD all over this piece of generic crap cd and very little janet. on one hand i hope the record sells well so nipplegate can be securely behind us and the media can move on. on the other hand i hope it tanks and janet figures out that the majority of the public like her because she's janet and not because she can do what all the other poptart du jours are doing. by the way, if this is her attempt at proving she can do that flava, she hasn't proven anything. personally, i think the record is lame. the only good tracks are those where janet does janet. this should tell her something. yeah, i'm salty. i loved damita jo and because of poor record sales and a bit of controversy she and virgin abandoned it. she neglected to do a tour to support the record and instead she went in the studio...and made this steaming pile of hot shit. thanks, j. well, at least one good thing came from all of this. i was able to hear the record before buying it and now i can save 10 bucks by just buying the three tracks i like from itunes. i was hoping beyond hope it wouldn't come to that. i thought it might, but i truly was hoping it wouldn't.

It was a toss up but I really don’t like this new one and I’ve listened to it a few times. Heck, I debated putting Janet Jackson before it ’cause at least JD’s not on there and Come Give Your Love To Me is my jam. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

MikeMatronik said: Overall opinion:
So Excited 7/10 (Should have been the first single...) Show Me 8/10 (I didn't talk about this one because I was cleaning the kitchen and listening to it on the mp3 player...sound like TLC's Come Get Some but more tamed!) Get It Out Me 10/10 (The perfect second single...some techno and electro mixes would do wonders!) Do It 2 Me 7/10 (Nice...nothing to declare!A better vocal production would have been welcomed!) This Body 9/10 (Also nice...not single material! Would be a perfect medley with BlackCat!) With U 6/10 (maybe the first filler...only time will tell on this one!) Call on Me 1/10 (Pure shit...better, makes shit look like gold...FILLER!) Daybreak 8/10 (Kwell...) Enjoy 10/10 (Vintage janet...3rd single, Mrs Dupri?) Take Care 6/10 (baby making song...nice!) Love 2 Love 7.5/10 (better than the previous...nice to do some strip) About the interlude: Nice ones, and not to many...still Velvet Rope and janet. hold the best she did! Negative point: Weekend should have been included on the album... Overvall Score: 8/10 Better than Damita Jo, but not better than janet. Will I buy it? YES! [Edited 9/19/06 14:16pm] I said the same thing about Weekend. So i just added it as a bonus track. LOL.

You Ain't Right All For You When We Ooohhh Better Days The rest is shit. "Doesn't Really Matter?" "(Nutty-nutty-nutty for you") Carly Simon Rapping? A rock track with distortion on a JANET album? "Love Scenc (ooh Baby)?" Interludes where she imitates Fran Drescher, checks her pager, and disses men for coming too soon during sex? The title? After the pop perfection that was the deep and meaningful "Velvet Rope" and a 4 year break all she could come back with was "All For You?" The most GENERIC possible title for an album? Just everything about that album/era was half-assed. The videos, the singles...she looked great but never put out more boring shit. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

Fuck all y'all hos hatin' on All for You. I'd put that in slot 2 right after Rhythm Nation.
I'll wait to give my opinion on the new album until I get it! Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

I'll wait to give my opinion on the new album until I get it! I've cooled quite a bit on All For You since it came out, but that's true of all Janet albums. She doesn't have the same staying power for me that my other favorites do. That said, the albums that I still LOVE in order would probably be janet., then Rhythm Nation, then Velvet Rope.
