Im surprised no one is jumping all over Lionels latest

Well I was hoping that Lionel was going to do an album that wasnt like that leadoff single, but he didnt. This album is so drenched in lazy RB production its amazing, honestly it would probably be a good album if Lionel didnt sound so clean, and that damn RB beat thats on every single RB record today wasnt on his. Very disappointing considering the involvement of Raphael and also Chuckii Booker, but this CD just is a big miss, had it not been so produced and layered it might have been better, but as usual RB production is lousy

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. In my opinion, this is the best CD from Lionel in a few years. While the songs might be typical sounding for other artist, they sound good coming from lionel. While it is not in the same class as "Can't slow Down", this is his best in a long time.

Well thats mainly my problem with it, Lionel can always sound good, its just the production, its just so typical. It like the bad production that Paul McCartney had on 90% of his solo work, until he finally woke up.

I haven't brough the album yet, but I think it's a big suprise. He lost me with his last record, Just For You. I really wasn't expecting him to do another R&B record, but I guess this is a dream come true. I like that I Call It Love joint, so I guess I'll check this one out. Gald he's taking a break from the comtemporary pop stuff he's been doing for almost 20 something years.

Well if u can bare the RB/POP production that many of todays artists have then you will like the album, Lionel sounds good and the songs are Ok its just so overproduced and slick.

For a Lionel Ritchie cd, it is NOT overproduced. It is right where he should be at this stage of his career. It sounds a lot better than that "Angel", single that he released a few years ago. To me, that single and entire album was over produced. This is just what he needed.

Never said it was a bad album, it has good songs but just bad production. Many albums have had that, most of Emancipation did.

What do you consider bad production? I don't think that Emancipation suffered from bad production. There were just a too many songs for people to take in. I consider most of Jessica Simpson's cd's badly produced or even the last Brittney CD.

The CD is great. I've listened to it once in the car. There are only one or 2 misses, but it's his best disc in years.

I hear Ya Nurse! As I am a Nurse & actually fear that Nicole is jeapardizing her Life-if she keeps her current eating patterns up-meaning she isn't eating enough period-I don't care what anybody says-Nicole included & I sure hope that Lionel is wise enough to get her help before her Kidneys or Liver fails her-as I am Transplant Nurse! & get plenty of 22 yr. olds who thought they new better-NOT!

On the other note-The CD is HOT! Lionel is Cookin with his new Jingles! Can't wait to see him in Detroit! Got some Kewl seats!

Peace & Love!

Heard Lionel today on Wendy Williams' show. She actually did a good interview until she had to ask him (in discussing dating in this day and age as opposed to his heyday with the Commodores and his 80's work), "How do you like having to wear a condom all the time?" But he diverted the question and stayed classy. Even Wendy had to admit it. She asked at the end, "Did anyone tell you not to do my show?" soundin' all vulnerable. . .anyway, he said, "No". I turned the interview on late; I know she probably asked about Nicole's weight problems, but I missed that part.

Dude is almost 60, though! Dang!

He's still very popular in France I think his last album did decent here but I don't see this new one doing anything,he's just too old for THAT kind of rnb,he's not NEYO,but he's still definitely cool in my book!
