I am just so bored of this chick. yawn Her best music was the Early days nod I did love the Janet album tho.

I was listening to Control the other day and I have to say that's her best. Control, RN, and Janet are all top notch. I didn't "get" the Velevet Rope like so many did. But it's still a good album. All for You and Damita Jo have their star tracks but a lot of throwaway. I think that's how this album will be too.

Control seemed like a Time cd with Morris OUT and Janet in.

Well she was obviously under the right influence musically. With her new stuff she certainly isn't. And I respect her relationship with Jermiane, but she should let Mariah keep him for her music. I find him incredibly irritating when listening to Janet's music. And he really didn't bring much to the table for Janet.

Am I the only one who finds even Janet's smile quite irritating? It seems like it's just another part of the routine; line dancing, sex talk, "cute" smile. I put that "cute" in inverted commas, because I get the impression she thinks it's very endearing, but actually it just seems like another example of her disingenuousness (the major crime of all today's pop tarts). It just screams "Like me! Please!". I noticed her using it in the COM vid too and it seemed a bit like just an old habit she's never really questioned. I don't think there's any real joy behind it.

Well, she is quite a good actress .... wink

And the new album's will be the best cure for insomnia known to man.

^^Ya'll... lol

I'm waiting. To tell you the truth, COM and S.EX. aren't my most favorite songs of all time. (I love the S.EX. video as I stated many times in the thread I made in its honor.)

I know I'm going to buy the cd, period, and I want to see her perform live if and when she tours. So I'm supporting her.

This cd might not be my favorite, but it's still Janet. And I agree with you that she seems to be stalled-for lack of a better term. But then again, a lot of people really like 20 Y.O. I'm sort of thinking that because I'm not 20 Y.O. myself, I may have just missed the boat on this one.. but then again, I've read about some songs that might actually appeal to me, too, like "Enjoy."

Anyway, I want to wait and be pleasantly surprised--like I was with the S.EX video.

So now that I've listened to the samples and have a feel for the album I cannot be acused of "hating" on something because of a song title or something.

The songs all basically sound the same (as in bland, follow the dots, plastic r&b/hip-hop crapola) and could have easily been whispered as just as badly by Ciara, Cassie, Ashanti, etc.

It's my opinion that the album is hot garbage confused

The songs kinda have the same kind of sound to them based on the samples. I am going to get this CD anyway but my faith is fading but with that said, I have to hear all of "Enjoy". That sounds like the Janet I grew up with.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

This is one of those rare cases where I am going to "judge a book by its cover". And from what people are saying, it seems I have made an accurate assessment.

Damita Jo was patchy enough.

Yep those are pretty much my thoughts in a nutshell lol I heard the 13 minute mix tape with the dwarf rapping his sales pitch over and over and it's nowhere near Velvet Rope.

I did not say it was equivalent to Velvet Rope, but the best since that release. I will judge the cd as a whole in better quality, not by a mixtape. JD talked on the mixtape purposely so the songs would not leak to radio. I'm excited about this release and confident that Janet will deliver the goods.

I know why he rapped over the mixtape. But I still was able to get the general feel of the album and nothing strikes me as really great. Call On Me is such an ordinary r&b ballad and Janet's take on the much better "Dillema," by Nelly and Kelly Rowland. So Excited hasn't made a dent in my pants. I certainly didn't get excited about it. And I don't get how it's a "hot dance track" like was promised to us. All Nite was a much better dance track. I was expecting at least something on the level.

Anyways it seems Janet wants commercialism and in the process she's isolated a lot of her fans. I'm not mad at her and I understand her position. But to me nothing I've heard has really intrigued me. Even All for You and Damita Jo had their moments. I have a feeling this will continue with the downward spiral of my interest of Janet's work.

I'm off to listen to "When I think of You" thank you very much lol
