Please tell me you saw this.

It's Count Basie for me. All that Big Band dancing stuff. Those horns! The club vibe just seemed crazy when i hear cats talk about it.

I was too young to see Michael Jackson and Prince in their prime so now I can't imagine a world where everybody likes them. I would've loved to have experienced that! smile

The ones i'd really like to see at their peak are probably...

The Miles Davis 1st and 2nd Quintets along with the Bitches Brew era bands.
(saw him near the end)

James Brown
(saw him close to the middle but since he still gigs that's a sliding term)

Sly & The Family Stone
(saw them on the down side)

Sammy Davis Jr.
(never saw him live)

...artists that had some visual component to their performances

And maybe i'd add Led Zeppelin just to hear John Bonham's drum kit live.
(who I think I missed at a festival by a few hours)

I should've just gone to Woodstock.
Would've knocked five of those off the list.
If only I was born. sad sad
